If you dont wait and charge your credit card it sounds so easy but dont do it!! Being in debt sucks.. credit cards sounds so enticing because you can pay off little by little to survive but other expenses coincides in your life which makes it even longer to pay off that debt!!

Pay Cash $$ Monies for the mbp!!

To add to that, if you charge something on a credit card and pay the minimum payments, you end up paying well over 200% of the price...and it takes 17+ *years* to pay it off.

"But, but, but I'll make MORE then the minimum payments!" - statistics say no you won't, you'll charge something else on top of it. I can say that because I did it!

There is only one smart answer: Take the 'more then minimum payments' you convince your self you will be paying on the item once you've charged it and put it in the bank. When you can pay for it in cash, go for it.

Like all of you, I can't wait to get a new MBP, but have been waiting until my old Dell Inspiron 9200 goes off extended warranty (January 2009). My advantage is that I can take it as an expense off my business.

I try to go four years between upgrades. But the more I read about Apple, its software and the raving affirmations of Mac fans, the waiting gets worse. Even with the Montevina delay, I'm hoping August/September for a redesigned MBP, not a simple refresh.
