thanks for the advice mate i'll do it

for the guys trying to be funny, i paid lots of money for the phone and it should come with a decent warranty

its not my problem if you're slow but if you don't have any useful information you don't have to reply

It does, it comes with one year for problems that happen to the phone itself, not damage you cause to it

That's just the meanest thing I've seen on here in a long time.

You are correct, it's called "trolling" and not only is it mean, it's against the rules. Arnezie posted a perfect example of what not to do.

Not only did he succeed in angering/insulting the OP, he even intentionally caused negative reactions as evidenced by espiritujo reply to him

yeah that could be the dumbest thing I've ever seen on here too and I read more than I ever post.

Congrats Arnezie, you're a real help to the OP, and I'm sure he's grateful you stopped by.

OP, here is a good, cheap film kit that is waaaaay better than invisibleshield, and covers not only the front and back, but all sides and corners as well.

So you ARE saying that you want Apple to replace it for you? If so, they won't even consider it.

The warranty is very decent. It just doesn't cover accidental, cosmetic damage caused by you. Your only option is to pay for a replacement.

This is a very good post, to the point, and without being a jerk about it.

Got any pics of the the "tiny scratches"?
"What kind of issues" is what they are going to ask.

i tried to take a picture but my roommate's camera isn't that good (nokia C7)

whenever i take pictures with flash the picture comes blurry and washed out

i dropped it because i was too extra careful but can you tell me a name of these scratches remover products ?

i just got it week ago and haven'f find a good case, i guess i should just buy any cover until i find a good one
I had my 3GS wrapped in a flannel for a week whilst waiting for a case to be delivered.

So do you need me to advise you to put it under a bright light and turn off the flash, or can you try that on your own?
(ur quickly killing your own thread my friend)

man i'm talking about pictures in the dark, why would i turn on the flash in a bright light, flash is meant to make the picture better not blurry

You seem confused about the meaning of "warranty" vs. "insurance." A warranty covers your item in case there is some manufacturing defect or something like that. Insurance is what you purchase so that you'll be protected in case you drop your phone. Two different things. The iPhone's warranty is fine. You didn't purchase insurance, so now you have to deal with scratches. Seriously, it's not the end of the world. It's a phone; over the course of a few years it's going to get some scratches and cosmetic damage anyways, unless you keep it in a case. Yours just has premature scratches. Life will go on.

what? You really need to read your posts before clicking submit. I paid a lot of money for my car... does that mean if I wrap it around a tree, Honda should fix it for me under warranty? MAJOR FACEPALM.

Now you magically have camera issues cause of a couple of scratches... Here's a thought...don't put your finger next to the flash when taking a picture. Seriously. be concious of where your fingers are when taking a pic.

why everyone has to be so aggressive, i do have camera problems and after googling the problem i found lots of people with the same problem and if i sent my phone to apple i guess they're gonna check it first !!!

To the OP, it's quite frankly a silly thing to claim that Apple's warranty should cover damage incurred by you. That's called insurance.

What you should have done:
  • Bought a case when you bought the phone
  • Actually look after the phone. No offence, but if you were "extra careful", you wouldn't technically have dropped the phone. Accidents do happen, however, so I feel sorry for you for that.

I can claim that I've never, ever dropped a smartphone in my life. Not mine, nor anybody else's. I kept my last Desire HD in a case for the last 4 months of ownership, and have kept my 4S in a from the first minute I opened it (literally).

Honestly, no matter what anybody (or Apple) say, paying £35 (in my case) to protect a device that costs at least £500 is a bargain. For my 4S (£700), it's silly not to - a case and screen protectors are a cheap investment that really help stuff like this from happening!

As for cases, do take a look at the Speck Candyshell, it's one of the view cases that offers full protection (ie. including buttons). I'd recommend buying from authorised resellers, or at the very least places where you can guarantee you are getting the latest model. Others to consider that are similar (though definitely aren't as good) are the Casemate Pop! and numerous models from Switcheasy.

For screen protectors, try some Terrapin ones from eBay. Dirt cheap, but are the best screen protectors I've ever used (and I've really tried a huge quantity of expensive ones!).

Good luck :)

Most of us are just tired of reading post after post like yours where YOU dropped your phone and now there seems to be a camera issue that must be taken care of  but by all means please go trade your phone so that you can be happy and this thread may die. :apple:

Good luck trying to get it replaced. You dropped your phone and caused some damage and now want Apple to replace it. Don't think it's gonna be that easy.

I'll be honest...I'm willing to bet that at least 3/4 of the posters here would try to get their phone replaced if they did something similar and were as bothered as the OP.

Either way, OP, invest in a good case!
