I know how you feel man. Unfortunately for me I didn't sell my 3G like you did but had it with me at the pool on Friday and dived in with it in my pocket after a few (too many) drinks . My $30 Go-Phone sucks so bad compared to my iPhone. Only 4 more days though :D

Nice, you got that for a 3G lol I'm hoping I can get that for my 3GS

Post really good pictures from multiple angles. If your phone is unlocked, put it in your headline. Mine was something like:

iPhone 3G 16GB UNLOCKED for T-Mobile or AT&T

A lot of people don't know what unlocked means, or that they can't get an iPhone on T-Mobile, but if they come looking for a T-Mobile iPhone, guess which ad they're gonna click?

Tell me about it. I've been without my 3GS for 16 days. Still not sure why I sold it so soon, lol. Wanted to get top dollar. Having an iPad helps though. I've been using it as a phone as well.

What do you think the going price will be for an unlocked 16 GB 3GS after launch?

I was gonna sell it last week but I figured I wait till tmmrw when 4.0 comes out and then hope the dev team will release the unlock/jailbreak tool cuz im on the GM 4.0 lol

You answered your own question. I posted my iPhone at this price about a week ago, and started talking to potential buyers. Right now, there are about twice as many phones on Craigslist as there were then.

By Wednesday, there will be so many on there, with people trying to undercut each other, that the going rate for my 3G would probably be about $200 or less.

No one wants to be without their phone, but they don't think ahead, and they'll lose money. A few days without my phone is worth the extra $100, and it means I get the 32GB instead of the 16GB now.

I went through a company that buys them back, and I believe I'll get the same good deal this year.

Just sold my 3G on eBay tonight--shipping it off tomorrow.

It's really going to suck being iPhoneless for a few days, but I think those that sold their iPhones before the new one comes out will be happy when they see what the flooded market does to the prices. I got $213 for mine and it definitely had some wear on it (this one was my fiancee's until she upgraded to 3GS the same week my old 3G was permanently bricked from the last OS update--I'm still pissed about that).

Anyway, I feel ya... I'm going crazy already and it's only been boxed up for 3 hours or so!

I buy high-end gadgets all the time and sell them after the next big thing comes out.

Here's the deal. Most here on MacRumors are gadget savvy and aware of the new iPhone. It seems you all are selling your's "jailbroken?" If thats the case, the buyers are also gadget savvy.

Some believe it or not are not aware of the iPhone 4's release date. Some don't care and just want an iPhone cheap. They'll buy it from someone they know on the 24th or whenever.

The buy-back company that I sold my 3G to AFTER receiving my 3GS had a limited buy-back window, but I was able to get what I considered a great price for it. And I don't want to risk something going wrong with my order and not having a phone for days on the idea that no one will buy it at a reasonable price. I don't believe that yet. I could be wrong, but I haven't been yet when selling my old gadgets.

Exactly. I thought about putting my phone up tomorrow, then shipping it out the day before the phone comes out, but what if something happens & I don't get my new phone? I'm probably just being paranoid, but I don't want to go too long without it.

Sold my 3gs tonight. I got 275.00 out of it. Not great, but I didn't lose money so whatever. My plan was to just hang on to the 3gs, then sell in a month or two when all the people selling died down and some supply dried up, but I decided I wanted a 32gb iphone and I sold because I needed the money to help pay for it. I'll be ready next year though.

What do you think the going price will be for an unlocked 16 GB 3GS after launch?

Really hard to say. It's going to depend on where you live, and how many are available on Craigslist, Ebay, or wherever you sell it.

Just a ballpark estimate, maybe $350-400?

You might consider watching to see when all the supply starts to die down again, maybe about a month or more after launch, and the prices might go back up.
