As everyone on this forum I will be following the 'play by play' that comes out during the conference today. As I stated earlier in my post, I think Apple products are far better that most products out there. Having said that, there are 'pros' and 'cons' on their products (as there are 'pros' and 'cons' on everything in life) and this 'view' is different for everyone (as clearly illustrated on this post and its many replies).
My intention was not to pass as a 'troll' by issuing this thread. I also realize the 'context' can easily lead someone to think so.
I found most replies very informative. The others are...well... just that; replies.
Good for you guys if the iPod touch is the definitive device for your needs.
As for me, I obviously do not need all the 'apps' side of it (I am more of a audiophile) and my needs are (justifiably so) apparently fulfilled by other devices.
Having said that, my post is more of a 'it-would-have-been-a-good-thing-if-the-ipod-touch-would-have-included-these-options-Im-looking-for-as-I-like-apple-products' than a 'in-your-face' post.
In 2012, I read somewhere that companies will provide music files with a lot more 'data' (mp3 take out too much of the original score). There are FLAC formats and a lot of formats 'in between'. That - for me - will be very interesting.
My next 'device' will then be purchased towards these features. Buying a less pricy device makes it easier to 'switch'.
Looking forward to see what comes out today about the ipod touch. We'll be talking further I'm sure.
Cheers.
