Im not getting into this just adding an opinion...continue to fight amongst yourselves.
I haven't used the Fire, as I'm in the UK, but I was looking forward to seeing it and have been interested in seeing reviews.
From what I have seen it is a perfectly okay tablet, which has some problems because Amazon needed to get it under the $200 price point. It seems the Nook, with a slightly better spec, but at a higher price seems to be the tablet the Fire should be? If Amazon had decided $250 was the golden price and built accordingly there may have been very few complaints.
I believe that like it or not, we have seen the capabilities of the iPad and have an expectation of our devices now, (no jerky, laggy interface for instance). If Amazon needed another $50 to get the Fire to a similar level they should have done it, it would have still been very nicely priced.
I still have every hopes for the "Fire 2", but this time around its seems like its almost there, but not yet.
