I thought you was going to wait for the Ipad Air 3 this year..

I am in the same boat as you i am waiting for the Ipad Air 3 this year but due to recent reports there won't be a Ipad Air 3 this year i might get Ipad Air 2 instead.

So should i get the Ipad Air 2 or wait and see if there is going new Air 3?

And is Ipad Air 2 great? What are your thoughts/impressions of it?? I would like to know :)

Yeah I was originally gonna wait for the Air 3. It just kinda worked out that I could get it now. Honestly, after using it for a few days, I can't see how Apple will top it. And if they do, I wouldn't care one bit. This tablet is near perfect. iOS runs great and it takes everything I throw at it. Bottom line; it is FAST.

The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box is how thin it is. This thing is incredibly thin. Feels much better to hold than the Mini 2. Next I noticed the screen. The screen is amazing! The colors are crisp and sharp.

In short, yes, this is a GREAT tablet :)

Should you wait? I'm not sure. If you can wait, then I would wait. If you need it or just want it now, I'd get it. It's a great tablet that runs great! I really didn't think about the reports of no air 3 this year when I got my air 2. There will be an air 3, but I think that it won't be a significant upgrade.

I caved and got myself a 64 GB WiFi Air 2 last night. I will pass my Mini 2 to my daughter for her birthday. I was always frustrated by the display quality on the Mini 2 compared to the iPhone. It looks so washed out. I love the Air!

Congrats!! Looks like we did the same thing! Got the air 2 then passed the mini 2 down to a family member :)

Yeah now looking back, the display of the mini 2 was horrible compared to the air 2. The air 2's colors are sharp and vivid and the mini does look washed ou out

With all the cloud storages option these days, I don't know why some people feel the need to pay a good $100 extra for the 128GB model. 64GB is more than enough for a mobile device IMO

Well, I sprung for the 128 because I want to keep this tablet for as long as it gets software updates. So likely around 4-5 years, so I want to get the max storage so I don't have to worry down the road :)

Congrats OP. Like someone else mentioned, the air 3 if it does get an upgrade will be evolutionary, not revolutionary.

I agree 100 percent!! I really don't think that the air 3 will get a huge update like the iPad Air 2 did. I think it'll just be minor upgrades, but nothing like the air 2 got :)

I'm tempted to swap mine for the 128. I don't think the sale at Staples last week included the 128 and this week it does. For another $90 I could get the 128. I'm loading up the 64 right now to see how full it is and I'll decide from there.

I don't personally need that much storage, but my next iPad will have at least 128GB and LTE. I've had every WiFi model, but now I wish I had LTE.

Ugh, this 64 is making an apparent problem I've been having bigger. All of my devices (128 gb 6 Plus and rMini) have 15 gig of "Other" from the instant I restore them as new and start to sync my pictures and music. Is this something to do with my pictures? It indicates I have 17 gig of pictures and the same amount of "Other" when all I have sync'd is those pictures. I need to figure this thing out now...

Oh its fine and I'm glad for you realy. In fact, i couldn't wait also and grab an air 2 last week as well. I'm agree 100% with all you say about the tablet. It is very impressive. I upgraded from an iPad 4 and I cant beleive how fast the tablet is. Its almost as fast as my computer for internet browsing. And I'm very impressed with so many app that can stay in memory, thanks for the extra 1GB of ram. In fact, my iPhone 6 plus eels a little dated compared to my ipad air 2. I didn't use it that much outside of calling and texting since my air 2.

Is iOS 9 on the air 2 is as smooth and fast as iOS 8? Because many times, the iOS version after the initial version that came for the device slow down a little the performance of the device.

isn't there a speaker problem or iPad vibration?

That's great, OP, good job with taking care of your mom! I passed on my OG mini to my moms as I upgraded to my mini 2 earlier this year and she loves it. She's not huge on the latest and greatest, as long as it works for her, she's golden. However, it's been a pretty good year financially so far for me, so I've been entertaining the mini 4 or air 2 with the imminent price drop and handing her yet another "new" iPad mini to her as a surprise. My pops is just getting into trying out a tablet, so he'll probably get a free one in the OG mini. Keeping it a family affair!

Congratulations on your new device. I have an rMini 2 and the only time I even think about its washed out screen is when someone mentions it. In use, it doesn't feel or look washed out to me.

isn't there a speaker problem or iPad vibration?

The Air 2 does vibrate when using the built-in speakers. For some people it is clearly a deal-breaker, for others just an irritation, and others yet (like myself) it's an I-don't-care. I rarely use the speaker as I prefer earbuds or headphones with my devices and when I do use the speaker, it doesn't bother me. It's a personal opinion kind of issue but it is real.

Actually it's not what I thought it would be! My impression was that the back of the iPad vibrated so much that it made a vibrating noise! That is not true at all. When. The volume is up to about 50 percent or higher, yes it does vibrate. Meaning that you can feel, when holding it, the iPad vibrate. That's it. It doesn't bother me one bit! I actually don't mind because I love how loud the speakers are!! They blow away the Mini 2.

Haha yeah she really doesn't care for the latest and greatest either! She was getting by on the iPTouch and I would consider it almost unusable! She said it was fine! Well, until it died lol. But yeah I like to keep all the Apple products in the family :)

Mine isn't noticeable at all when in it's case. I find nothing annoying about it.
