So I work in a control room with one other guy. We work 13 hour shifts, 14 days straight and get 7 days off. Needless to say, we spend a lot of time together, and he annoys me to no end. He is a chronic liar and a one up artist. Everything I do in my personal life, he has to do, but better. One up (in his eyes) always. I bought a Harley, he bought an Indian right after. I bought a house in the country, he bought a luxury condo in the city. Anything I’ve ever done in life he has done but only more, or better, or more expensive.
I ordered my X and got a launch day release. I was excited and told him about it. It was home waiting for me when I went on days off, and of course have it now with me back at work. He shows up for our rotation with a new note 8. Saying he happened to be in the Apple store on days off and was looking an a X but there was literally a line up of angry people waiting to get help with defective X’s. There was yelling and security involved. All in all an ugly scene. He b-lined out of there and went and purchased a Note 8. A way better, and much less expensive device according to him.
Every visitor who comes into our control booth is shown his new device and given a speach on how superior it is to the X. Larger screen, hand writing capabilities, superior android software, and a run down of all the rumored issues with the X bla bla bla. I gotta say that while the Note 8 is a very nice device for what it is, it’s not an iPhone... and who wants to carry that big bulky unit around? Screw him and his rediculously large handset. Let’s see how much he likes carrying that around in the middle of summer. Where you going to put that thing? Ha. X wins again.

Leave that toxic environment

Why anyone cares about another persons phone always surprises me.
Because they need the phone to prove the value of themselves. They have no self esteem at all.
A good way for them to further prove themselves to be superior is to baselessly criticise everything, just like they’re smarter than Apple, Google, and everybody in the world

Everybody needs an arch nemesis like Batman needs The Joker.

Anger gets you focused. Wished Tim never fired Scott Forstall. Now Jony has become a bloody buffoon without an arch nemesis to keep him sharp. Apple lost their focus. You need rivalries to help push you.

I don't know about your house and whatever else, but I think he one upped you in the smartphone stakes.

Arch enemy 1

Send us a pic of your respective houses and I'll see if I can sqaure things up for you. No guarantees of course.

I don’t know whether to take this thread seriously. Kind of a wierd tit for tat thing. Sounds like you feel he may have one upped you so you come here looking for assurances and support.

You have a very nice phone and are a very special person. Do you need a hug?

Man... Your coworker felt that the whole $50 difference was worth mentioning? You should ask him about that, haha.

I’m not sure why people always use price as a talking point on the iPhone X, but never mention the $950 price tag of the Note 8.
