I'm just a normal guy with no special superpowers but I kinda have to agree. I mean, it sorta does seem like we should've seen an assembled 5.5er by now so I also think it'll be October. But hey, who knows.

Semi-related:
I want the 5.5 but kinda think I might regret it as soon as I have it on a daily basis. Incidentally, I feel the same way about the 4.7 being too small. Not sure what to do...

why is there always people who feel the need to guarantee stuff they know nothing about and in no way are they even remotely involved in...

Because if he's wrong he can change his username. Kind of like the guy who knows who's going to win the game but won't bet $5.

The Mac Pro- which involved a complete reinvention from the former model rather than an iteration of an iPhone design- did not have a single rumor of substance until 5 days before it was revealed. A 5.5" iPhone is leaking parts much earlier and in much greater volume than that Mac Pro.

Obviously, I expect one. It makes no sense to hold one back for a few months as that will motivate a segment of buyers to wait it out. It makes no sense to show one but hold it back because that will be even more motivating for buyers to delay a purchase decision. It make no (business) sense to NOT launch one when launching one will likely nullify a great deal of the sales advantage of key competitor phones (and likely draw a lot of people who chose Android models without iOS for those bigger screens right back to iPhones again). It makes no PR sense to allow this rumor this much time to grow and grow and grow and then disappoint when a simple Dalrymple "Nope" could have deflated this particular bit of rumor weeks or months ago.

I get why some of us hate the idea of it, but we're a biased bunch, thoroughly accustomed to 4" as the still "perfect" size as handed down by the Apple. I suspect we are not the primary market for a 5.5". Instead, I suspect it's aimed at wooing the Android crowd to Apple- people who ARE pretty accustomed to 5"-6" and bigger-screened phones. They are not preoccupied with "one handed use" and apparently they can find pants with pockets big enough to hold their "abominations" that "99% don't want". Now they will have an Apple alternative to feed their bigger-screen want that will also come with iOS. To them, 4.7" may seem too small but 5.5" will be right in the middle of what they like.

I'm guaranteeing 5.5" doesn't launch with the 4.7", that's what matters and on 9-9 you will see that
But it's something you can't guarantee simply based on conjecture and opinion (which is all that's essentially available so far). I guess you can say that you can guarantee that you think that will be the case, then, sure, you can guarantee that that is in fact your opinion.

Agreed. "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

since he said he was never wrong, he can validate his claim himself.

but he's not putting his money where his mouth is ;)

if he was truly never wrong then he could earn a lot of money in this and other areas.

When I was young I used to be a know it all, always right and people hated me for it. I soon learned to switch that off. Now I know nothing :D

OP apparently flagged my original replies for deletion after he called me a "crybaby", so I'll say it again: Do you enjoy tooting your own horn in real life about something so insignificant? You can confirm absolutely nothing, therefore, your prediction is worth just as much.

Yes, may be you are right, but let apple takes this decision may be they launch both devices together and may not be, just enjoy and keep waiting

If there is a 5.5 in the near future I would hope Apple would at least unveil it so people can decide what would fit their needs. I would hate to grab a 4.7 not knowing the 5.5 will be offered at a later date in the year.

HOLY ****!!!

Where is this video of the 4.7" that is confirmed to be the phone of the phone hasn't even been confirmed yet!?!?

What exactly is that in reference to? Is there some new information out that is supporting what you originally said?

Just more front page macrumors stories saying it's launch 5-10 weeks later

Wasn't the same true of the 5S?
5.5 Plastic shell maybe the parts don't need to be in production yet?
