I guess the glossy isn't as bad as I thought

I'm Considering an iMac.
For those that want the matte, I wonder if just getting the 21" imac is a lesser evil with an added larger matte external as the "main" work display, or is that too much a compromise? 😕

I have been working on pictures of our trip to Bryce Canyon Utah. I have calibrated my i7 imac and I use Photoshop Elements 8. My photos pop and are much better than CR3 and my old Matte G5.

I agree with you 100%, I love the glossy screen and my photos print out just as nice as they look on the screen. 😀

The most important thing to get your photos to pop like on your screen is to calibrate your monitor.

I love your photo, Bryce Canyon is on my list of places to visit.

The diffusion of glare on a matte screen also diffuses the image on the screen slightly. Images on the glossy iMac don't have that light diffusion, so images really pop off the screen.

I have now spent over 8 hours working with photos on my i7 using both photoshop CS2 and elements 8. BTW, contrary to popular belief, you can load CS2 on an SL machine. It took 3 attempts but it works perfectly. Since Epson came out with new drivers for my 2200 that work with SL and new icc profiles, the printed photos are great and they actually match the image on the screen. I manually calibrated the iMac screen using the Mac's calibration utility. I am still loving the glossy screen.🙂
