The MBP 2020 sounds like it’ll take the cake. My current fears are the keyboard, so I’m staying away from 2016 to 2019. I want to upgrade from my MBP 15” Mid-2015 soon, due to it not being as portable as a 13”(or 14” since 16” is the new MBP?)

You are correct that's where the iMac Pro was first demo-ed, but that iMac Pro was announced/unveiled a couple months before that at WWDC and it didn't actually release till the middle of December that year.
