If you use more than 1 set of normal headphones in different places it can be annoying. I leave mine plugged into my QC25s for now, but am thinking of moving it to my car's 3.5mm jack since I have BT headphones and don't really need to use the QC25.

Since they're only $9/each, I just bought a few so they can live permanently on my various wired headphones. That helps considerably with the annoyance factor.

I have different headphones for different uses now. I had the parrot zik 3 which I just handed down to my daughter because I have a pair of qc35's on the way. I also have a pair of plantronics backbeat fit for working out

Haven't used the dongles yet. Have a BT adapter coming in soon and just got some BT IEMs

It feels weird using these QC35s.

I almost hate not having the wire. It's seriously weird.

Oh, and the headband seems cheaper. When I pick them up, the ratchet mechanism to extend them collapses back down to the bottom, and I have to re-extend them. QC25s never did that.

Sound is good, same as the QC25 mostly. I can't help but wonder what having aptX support on iOS would do for BT audio quality though.

aptX enables devices to be able to stream audio at a higher quality / better quality. Unfortunately I believe both devices must support this, and the iPhone doesn't yet.

Finally figured out how to turn off the "Attempting to pair with bluetooth..." messages on the QC35 when I just want silence.
Plug in the 2.5mm stereo jack before turning the headphones on. Don't plug the 3.5mm end into anything.
Rather than cut my original cord, I ordered a cheap 3.5 female to 2.5mm male stereo adapter from Amazon ($3.50).
I'll cut that, and finally have the silence I crave, immediately, rather than after 5 minutes of nagging.
For the price, Bose could've put in a switch for that.

-Technically, I guess the thing will qualify as a dongle.

How do you turn those messages off? Is it under Voice Prompts in the Bose Connect app?

EDIT: Yep. Ahh... peace and quiet, no more robo-lady interrupting my music as I roam between devices. :D

I find plugging in a 2.5mm stereo jack works better than turning messages off in Bose Connect. That later will give you uninformative beeps if there's more than one device on your pairing list.
Voice message good when you have to sort things out.
A stereo jack stub is good when you just want instant silence. The headphones think you're plugged into your old Sony Walkman, so don't even try looking for Bluetooth, much less bothering you about it.

I turned voice off using Bose Connect app. Kept it that way a few days, and got annoyed when I couldn't figure out which device QC35 was trying and failing to pair with.
Turned voice back on, and plug in unconnected jack when I want silence.
-Best of both worlds.

You have to plug the jack in before turning headphones on, or it'll still look for Bluetooth.

So I've been using the QC35s for a few days, and they're great. They maintain a solid connection to my iPhone, so it's been a fairly painless switch from wired earbuds. Huzzah to no dongles.

My first NC headphones, so if anything that set my expectations too high. I was expecting total silence, like being in a bubble. Not quite, you can still hear a fair bit of surrounding noise, but it is surprising how much they do block out. I'm still occasionally just randomly lifting one ear cup just to see the difference.

Comfortable, lightweight, decent battery life. Overall happy with them as portable headphones so I can have some peace and quiet on the go. Sound quality doesn't quite blow me away, but I guess you can't have everything.

Only problem is wearing them at night...I'm a lot louder myself, because I can't hear myself stomping around the house :D

Damn you, Apple. I told myself when ordering this phone, I'd live with the dongle.

But holy hell, is it annoying.

Did anybody else give in and buy BT headphones with their 7, or is it just me?
You fell right in line. Like the pied Piper leading the rats out of the city. I have to say it because this is my chance, so I'm going to say it: I told you so!!!

I hope you are proud of yourself. New owner of cheap Bluetooth headphones. The quality isn't as good as wired. But you did this to yourself. We tried to warn you.

Been dongle-free for 2 weeks
