Well if I were you I'd switch providers and sell my phone to pay the ETF. Go to AT&T or T-Mobile.
Well, I'll just say what I've said before. The issues haven't affected me enough to quit. All that I am really affected by is slow data. SMS/MMS works fine, I don't get dropped calls and call quality is good. And as mentioned, almost everywhere I go has WiFi.

I was strongly considering T-Mobile though, but Sprint started going live with LTE in Phoenix so I stayed. It'd be great to get Verizon speeds, but honestly I don't need that for what I do with my phone. And I use data far less than I talk.

I suppose I am not a typical user so this is probably why the whole thing hasn't affected me as much as others. I did get my cut at Sprint though. I demanded and received free of charge each month an Airave.

Sprint really sucks this bad.

They will do anything to get you to keep your phone the entire 14 days.

Thanks bro. :)

Well I understand. Switching carriers isn't fun. But I wasn't speaking out my A** on Sprint. I actually had them for a while in Summer 2011. I live in the Chicago land area. Their then '4G' Wimax was so bad. Due to the high frequencies it would cut out the second you go inside. Then all you had was their 3G network which we all know about. When I switched to AT&T for the iPhone 4s it was night and day difference. T-Mobile wasn't bad where they had coverage. But most of the time with them it was EDGE city. For some odd reason they run their EDGE network at full blast instead of the h+ network.

But if Sprint continues with their crap, they're not going to be around much longer. I'm actually rooting that T-Mobile takes their #3 spot. T-Mobile has been delivering the promises they've been making this year. They just need to focus on EDGE. Sprint really is a lost cause.

Oh I get it, not arguing that. I hope I've shown that I'm not just some Sprint Lemming that mindlessly defends them. I know who and what they are. It's just that where we are and the way we deal with Sprint it's not enough to make us move yet.

Chicago. Part of that market's problem is that that is an Ericsson market with old Samsung 3G equipment.. Ericsson had a very hard time with LTE there because when the LTE equipment handed off to the old 3G equipment when you left an LTE area the Samsung junk simply dropped the call instead of switching to 3G. Consequently, lots of dropped calls. As to WiMax, yeah the higher frequency couldn't penetrate. Sprint's plan is to use 1900 (it's current band) for most LTE while using the 2700 WiMax band for outside service and the iDen 800 band for voice and better LTE penetration. We'll see how that all turns out.

Glad you got a better carrier though. I am always a proponet of choosing what works best for you. My outlook with Sprint is that if it fails, it gets either sold or bought out which makes me a customer of whatever carrier it ends up with. The chances of that being a better carrier are pretty good I think.

I had Sprint once all of maybe a few days but I never had good service...calls dropped, etc. I've been with Verizon for years and rarely have a dropped call.

Sprint doesn't care because they were bought by Softbank. A lot of the employees are seeing their careers come to an end there. They don't care. No incentive for the employees.

Well, it goes back too to that culture I mentioned. Sprint also is fully aware of everything that we are discussing in this thread. They know the network sucks, they know that people hate them for it and that their reputation is bad.

But Sprint corporate is of the mindset that LTE will fix everything and bring people back. Consequently, CSRs have been directed to make no special effort or give incentive to retain customers.

The problem I have is that what if Sprint builds a network and by the time it's done what if there aren't any customers left to use it?

Sprint is trash and I will shout it from the rooftops every chance I get.

So sick of hearing about their stupid unlimited data. Who cares if your data is unlimited when you can't ever use your phone???

I'm literally counting down the days until I'm free from them. 21 days to go and my two years of suffering is over.

LOL! Well, sure, with those speed. But as I mentioned all I really use data for is radio streaming and web browsing if I happen to be out. Nothing heavy duty.

So…this works for me. :D

I know that's like one quarter of what you're getting but it's sure as heck faster than Sprint 3G!

BTW, this was on one of the first LTE towers in Phoenix.

That's LTE though. What's nice is if you need to turn it off, you can still get 5-10mbps down on AT&T's fake 3G labeled "4G".

I think T-Mobile would suite your needs best, depending on they where coverage where you live/work/play. :D

That as I mentioned, had actually been where I was thinking of going until Sprint got LTE around here. The T-Mobile store is actually closer to my house than the Sprint store.

Nice try though, LOL! :D

One second I can be on LTE then it drops to 3G or 1x. No consistency whatsoever. It makes it difficult to use spotify or pandora at all. This company is a joke. I hope it eventually gets better. I miss verizon.

I have had sprint for 10 years (started with Nextel)..There data services were horrible up until 6 months or so ago when there LTE network started working in my area. Now, I have no complaints...

Also, I'd like to add that Sprints customer service was first class up until 2-4 years ago where it went down hill...Now it seems as if Sprint is finally changing again and listening/catering to its customers...

One more thing, 2 different people need to stop comparing service carriers. What works perfectly for one individual may not work as well for another...For example, ATT is subpar in my area.
