Is the SE newer then the iPhone 5 and 5S?
Yes. It released in March 2016. It launched six months after the 6s and shares the same processor.
And also the same camera as the 6S. It's basically the 6S in a 5S body.
If you are looking for a more affordable phone that can keep up with your needs and fit easily in the pocket or purse, the SE is one to check out.
The SE is a fantastic little phone! As @Darmok N Jalad said it's pretty much a 6S in the body of a 5..
iPhone 5 was released in 2012 and 5s in 2013. SE is much newer.
It’s closer to a 5S with the A9 processor/gpu and an upgraded rear camera
It’s a fun little phone, and still pretty quick. The screen is small, but being able to really use the phone with one hand is a beautiful thing.
According to Anandtech, it has the 6S's rear camera, same processor and RAM type/amount, but it uses the 5S's front camera, shell, and display (though it is brighter).
Yes. It may look almost identical to those models, but its internals are 3 and 2 generations newer than the 5 and 5s respectively.
I'm looking at the SE iphone as well and really wish a new SE2 would come out for 2018...Maybe petition Apple for it, it needs updates but to keep it size as well.
Great phone. I use mine daily and it is fast and smooth on iOS 11.3 beta.
I don’t think petitioning Apple for an iPhone SE 2 would change their stance based on what they will decide to do or not to do with a refresh. I think they will update the iPhone SE, but if they don’t, then I do believe they will retain the SE in their lineup at least for one more year.
I have 11.2.6
Yup, and better CPU as well.
