What's the best way to test for this issue as well as backlight uniformity. I think I might have a mild case of both issues on my display but I can't tell if it's my imagination. Image seems bluer on the left and warmer on the right, and I also think there is a dim spot at the top of the display and bottom right. I can't tell if it's my imagination though since sometimes I notice and others I don't and I notice or don't notice it depending on brightness and whatever app I have running. Just hard to say.
Is there an image I can use to test? Are the issues less apparent at full brightness or low brightness (seems more noticeable at low to me)?
My iphone 6s Plus is much warmer than my iphone 6 plus. And it's been bothering me as well. So when I picked up the pro, I looked to make sure there wasn't a yellow tint, I noticed there is on the bottom half of the screen. Picked it up today. Anyone with a yellow tint?
Got a replacement unit. Although the original seemed fine for the most part, side by side the new one blows it away with uniformity and colors... Everything is just a bit more saturated and apparently the previous one had a slight pink to green gradient when viewed in landscape. So far the new one seems fine so I'm taking the last one back... Will have to use some more tonight to figure out if it's a keeper![]()
Thanks for the update - I have the same problem areas as you do so I may order another one to see if its better. It's pretty subtle but it's kind of driving me crazy, regardless. I guess for a device that is basically just a screen, I shouldn't feel too bad demanding a perfect (or close to) screen.
Ha! Made me laugh! If your avatar is a picture of you, are you sure it's not just your reflection![]()
People should be a little less obsessive about their screens. There are no perfect screens in that price range.
My iPad Pro screen has a clear Yellow Tint on the top half of the screen, it's clearly noticeable on white screens and it truly bothers me a lot. My big problem is I want to get a solution from apple but:
- I am outside of the 14 day return period
- I am not sure if Genius with the type of ilumination on an Apple Store will recognize the problem
- I've seen lots of forums where people have returned iPad Pros witht his problem, so even if they do exchange it it's highly posible I will receive a referbushied one with the same kind of issues.
Here is a pic of my iPad, I don't know if it is as clear on the pic
That's kind of how my first one was and it drove me insane. I ordered mine through AT&T on NEXT and tried to get them to replace it. I got the runaround from them and Apple. What did I do? I ordered two new IPP's from AT&T on NEXT again. Paid the $108 dollars in taxes combined for both and waited. I received two new IPP's and picked the best one. Thankfully there was one that was perfect. Crisp white, uniform and no issues. Just how it should have been. The other one was uniform but more yellow all over. My original was yellow on the top 1/3 and fine everywhere else.
It was easier and quicker for me to actually order two new IPP's than get my original exchanged. I had no stocking fees and they refunded all the money I spent on the ones that were returned to them - didn't even have to call. I was truly amazed at that ordering more was faster, easier and better than trying to exchange one. Go figure.
I got mine a few days ago. It definitely has a warmer screen than my air did. Also it is slightly more yellow on the top close to the FaceTime camera. Still debating if I should exchange it or not.
