Hows the coverage though? I know AT&T is cannibalizing EDGE spectrum for 3G HSPA and now even LTE so you might get worse GSM coverage vs 3G coverage...lowest I'd go is the iPhone 3G...I actually have my iPhone 3G out right now :D

EDIT: YOur on T-Mobile nvm. Itll last a bit longer. Ah now I really want to go buy every version of the iPhone now....I'm thinking of getting a used GSM iPhone 4....I still think the 4 was the best looking phone...I have a CDMA one but a GSM one would be a little more satisfying...anyone want to trade? :D

The low number of functioning apps makes the storage nearly irreleant for me. I suppose I could load movies and/or music, but my work phone handles those just fine.

I brought my original iPhone to the AT&T store last week. I wanted them to activate it so I could sell my iPhone 5 in preparation for the iPhone 6 launch. They wouldn't do it. They said the network no longer supports the original iPhone.

They done told you a lie!

Ask for a regular sized sim card (or buy an adapter). Pop it in the phone and iTunes should activate it. If it doesn't you can just jailbrake "hacktivate" it too.

AT&T is in the process of dismantling their 2G network, but it will be a couple years - so they did indeed feed a line of crap. But, maybe it is now policy to no longer activate 2G-only phones, specifically because the network is going away...

If it is then my local corporate store hadn't received the memo quite yet.

I didn't have the first one, started on the second. Still got it, actually and took it travelling around South America.

Amazing that that device is 7 years only and the most current iPhone is only .5 inches bigger!

Yes, because the size of the phone somehow correlates to technological advancement.

You do realise that before smartphone, phone manufactures were racing to have the smallest phone possible, right?

Yes, in some cases size does equate to technological advancement. TVs are getting larger not smaller.

Also, why is Apple introducing larger screen iPhones today and not smaller ones?

Kudos. The 2G will always be a beautiful device. I still use my 3G now and then just for kicks.

And I would still be doing most of my typing on my old LC 475 if I hadn't sold it back in the day :(

I would consider using my 2g, but the battery is totally shot. Maybe last a few hours at most. The 6 reminds me of the original, which is a very good thing. They need to stick with the rounded design.

the closest thing i have to the original iPhone is my 3GS. bought it off craigslist in january (mint condition too, before i dropped it and shattered the screen) i recently activated it with AT&T GO phone service. serves me well :D

I miss mine. :( looking back, I should have kept it. I got a pretty penny for it at the time though.
