Y'all do realize that all Bluetooth is is a patented name on a range of frequencies in the radio frequency(RF) spectrum and a set of protocols to be used within that range. Bluetooth is just a subset of RF that occupies the microwave range.

Yes, I knew this. Obviously the radio waves aren't actually blue, nor do they have teeth :D

Ehh my post wasn't intended for you. I noticed that earlier you where even wondering exactly how Bluetooth is supposedly worse than RF. I was just explaining that they are essentially the same thing with different names.

It was intended for those who are try to play RF as some technology that is COMPLETELY different and far superior than Bluetooth. :D

Performance-wise, RF -- and you know I am not referring to Bluetooth here, so please don't try to play semantics -- has been historically proven to perform better than Bluetooth. There is a reason why Bluetooth mice are so few and far between.

I'll cast another vote for the Logitech MX Revolution. I picked it up this summer when Best Buy had a sale. It's awesome and gives me lots of versatility with the variety of programmable buttons. My previous mouse was an Apple Mouse as well. As far as the RF vs. Bluetooth argument I can only speak from personal experience. With my Bluetooth Apple mouse there was a short lag in connection when I would awake my computer from sleep. Additionally, there were times when the Bluetooth connection would be broken entirely and I would have to go into system preferences and relocate the mouse to re-establish the Bluetooth connection. My RF mouse has never lost it's connection and there is no lag time when awaking the computer from sleep.

Again, these are just my personal experiences, I'm sure others are different.

Edit: I forgot to mention that having a rechargeable mouse vs. using batteries rocks. I will never go back to batteries.

I love the new Magic Mouse. However, if Logitech were to release a Mac supported Bluetooth version of the MX Revolution, I would purchase it in a heartbeat.

Yes, I know the MX5500 is Bluetooth, but it is not Mac supported. And, I don't have the desire to purchase a third party application just to make it usable.

Rf or Bluetooth really depends on your household. Wether either works depends on what other devices in your house use the same or near on the same freq. My old cordless house phones played havock with my wireless mouse so I switched to Bluetooth to find dropouts when the microwave was in use as my office backed onto the kitchen wall. I replaced the microwave with a newer model and the problem was solved.

So people slagging off either need to remember things in your home or even neighbours could effect your equipment.

As for the op if you kept your hands clean you would have very few issues. My current mm/am has worked flawlessly as did the last no paper trick involved.

"Mac-supported?" It will work with the Mac either way. And Steermouse works without purchasing a license, if it bothers you that much.

I hated my wireless mighty mouse when it got to the point of needing constant cleaning.

I recently bought a magic mouse (for the same price as I paid for a wireless mighty mouse 6 months ago) and its AMAZING.

More precise, connects to bluetooth on computer faster, super sleek, great functionality.

Its NOT too small. Its perfect. It doesn't appear so at first but its actually far more ergonomic than the mighty mouse. The scrolling is superb, multi touch is nice.

I wish they would have kept the middle click and side button functions somehow, but the fact that this thing works so much better than the mighty mouse has brought me great relief.

Don't knock the magic mouse till you give it a good try. Check one out for 10 minutes and see what you think. I'm glad I did.

you should buy the logitech performance mx mouse, its awesome, its wireless and the receiver is about the size of a penny, nice modern design and it has alot of features like one touch search...the magic mouse is kool but this one beats it with more features :D

Oh it does?. How about:

1/ The known charging issues (IE: it stops charging when it feels like it).

2/ The VERY bad Mac OS X drivers, that cause the scroll wheel to randomly switch from click mode to freewheel mode.

3/ The stretchy rubber used for the scroll-wheel grip, which stretches to the point where it sometimes just falls off the wheel.

4/ Logitech's RUBBISH (and I MEAN rubbish) "customer support", who took 6+ weeks to send out a replacement MX Revolution.

Yes, it SO beats it. Not.
