Once everything has been settled with Vijay and the folding team I will resume normal interaction with the board.

will pandegroup be able to contact and/or clean the infected machines, or will the illegitimate folding continue unchecked? will it propagate more? will they keep the data?

The folding client has already been stopped on most machines and for those which try to obtain a new WU they to will be stopped at that time.

It will still propagate because it is in the wild on p2p networks such as Limewire and Bearshare, but it will not be able to fold if installed.

the first unwilling user that raised the problem in the folding forums, posted a log that said that fah was not able to fold properly, so THAT specific computer wasn't producing any WU. what gives? where multiple scripts diffused? and why putting usage at high %?

The person that raised the problem was folding just fine... he killed the FAHcore_78.exe process from within taskmgr, but not the client. If he did not see the process running, he would of submitted finished WU's.

I do hope after this is all said and done that everyone can get back to the project and have fun folding!! :)
