Switch it to the i5 1.7. You won't get any noticeable performance increase with the i7 but you'll have worse battery life and a hotter computer.
Ordered me a 13" base model. My 13" MBP will go to my wife, she doesnt travel nearly as much as I do.
Should be here tomorrow. Only $16 for overnight shipping - I would have spent that just in gas driving to and from the Apple store tomorrow.

I got the 256GB 13" i5. I don't really need that much more processing power, but I DO need the 256 as it is going to be my only computer for a while.
I spent the 16 bones for next day shipping. Hopefully that means tomorrow and not friday because I'll be at work when it comes.

Have had an HP Envy 15 (Ubuntu, not Windows) for the last year - which had replaced my black MacBook - and I can't wait to get this lap-melting slab of metal out of my life. As brilliant as the 1080p matte screen is, it's just not a good machine.

I have bought stuff from edu store few times and never had to show/submit proof.
Ordered 2 X 13" Ultimate today. Wont get it until next week, i7 pushes ship date to 1-3 days.

Well i guess that might make sense. Since the i5 is a 2 core and has 2 virtual cores.
while the i7 is also 2 cores, but probably with turbo boost.
I wish we could see the benchmarks.

No way mate. The extra MB L3 cache should make for a noticable difference. Its also 50 Mhz faster of a GPU... not as MUCH of a difference but slight. Also combined with a slightly faster clock... i don't know i don't know, we'll have to see the tests. But I would not call it so definitevly as you have.
