seems simple... its common knowlege that Apple knows squat about anything to do with a mouse... no right button until the mighty mouse... even my mom right clicks http://www.mymomrightclicks.com lol... just buy a new mouse from anyone but apple and you'll be good.... lifting your left finger to be able to right click... nice... who thought of that..lol...

D

What does any of that have to do with this thread?

You should try to get used to it, because it is better than the windows way. In the end I think you'll like it better.

not at all, when the pointer on the screen doesn't match up with the movements of your hand it just doesn't let anything work properly...

If you're not willing to give it a chance, then **** about it. I am trying to tell you it may take some getting used too. It does offer far more precise control.

not at all

does anyone have a solution to this -PROBLEM-

like steermouse? but not a trial

Well if we all like it, and only you don't like it, then it's not a "problem" - it's a feature you're simply not used to yet...

Similarly, I moved my finger slowly across my trackpad and my cursor only made it a few inches across, but when I moved my finger very quickly, the mouse flew to the other side of the screen.

I don't see why I would want it any other way?

You must not have very precise control over your finger motion...

if you had the mighty mouse you'd know what i'm talking about. it's horribly inaccurate and doesn't co operate with your hand, instead it has different on screen movements, a mouse should have the same movements on the screen as the movements are on the actual mouse

If that was the case your mouse pad would have to be the size of your screen. Quit complaining and try learning how to use it.

Wouldn't that mean you would need an amount of space on your desk equivalent to your screen size?

I do have a mighty mouse by the way and I find it quite accurate. Is yours wired or wireless? I'm not very trusting of any wireless mouse.

grats on the mac! just change the mouse speed in ur system prefs in the key board and mouse settings

Way to completely ignore the entire thread...

be nice,

and it's not wireless

and you pretty much know what i mean, it should stay at the same speed so it co operates with your hand movements instead of changing on you all the time

If you're trying to precisely draw circles and junk, why don't you get a tool that is meant for that such as a Wacom.

Or learn to be more precise with you're hand movements. The mouse only changes it's speed in ratio to your hand speed changes.

the speed changes of the on screen pointer are jagged and sudden compared to the actual movements of your hand though.... which doesn't work out at all:(

It may seem weird now, but it's pretty awesome really.

Wait 'til he discovers the green maximise button :D

Look, if SteerMouse helped with the problem, then just ****ing buy it and shut up. This thread has gone on about two pages too many. You don't like mouse acceleration, we get it. So buy the product that fixes your problem and move on.

kay well i kind of get annoyed when people say it's not a problem and that i should just be fine with it,

i'm kind of looking for a free program as well...

and i'm sorry if i offended you

help

hi i just bought a 2nd hand ibook g3 900mhz 256ram 40g..the problem is i cant update the software..once i update it,it ask for the USER and the password in which i don't know..the problem of it is that i dont have the Os X cd on it including the manuals and the box...i think im the 3rd user of it..the previous user don't have the manual and the cd's also...:( any suggestion guys? thanks

Contact Apple and see if you can get a cd? Can I ask you a question? Why would you get a computer when you are the 3rd person to own it and w/o cd and manuals no less. Ouch!

Was that good of a deal?

A newbie, Kind of confused or just excited to be here? :p

Probably a combination of the two...

While I'm thinking about it, how do I burn a CD without creating a burn folder?

hmm might be a double post but

I just got my first Mac too, Still kinda unsure about OS X (Tiger) but i am getting the hang of it.

Yeah I used a PC trackpad again yesterday, it was like WOOOAH! It's SO jerky and inaccurate!
