I've had four or five in my two and half years of owning a Mac. It's really just the same as a "freeze: in Windows, which happens much more often anyway. It's not so much "OMFG mi Mac crashedededed!" As it is "Well, that sucks"

I've had my MacBook since last june and i've only gotten 3 or 4 of them. None since upgrading to Leo :D

Edit: P.S. You could call me a power user... I run my computer almost 24 hours a day, encoding and whatnot, and i only restart for software updates.

I was downloading two episodes of Gene Simmons Family Jewels on iTunes then all of the sudden... BAM! kernel panic. .

Any Idea why this happened?

Downloading two episodes of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. There's your reason right there.

Your MacBook has taste.

:p:p:p

i just got my first one this morning. It happened as soon as I put in a DVD and I have 4gigs of ram so i guess i encountered a normal problem...still sucks though

I had my first ever kernel panic too last night and it was when I tried to open Adium. The beach ball was just spinning and I did a force quit and all of a sudden I got a message on my screen to restart/reboot and so I held the button down and did that and loaded back up with no problems. whew close 1

Well isn't this just the funnest week ever. Had to do a hard restart yesterday and today because everything just froze, and I just had another kernel panic.

...

I got the little snitch installation kernel panic but I haven't had any others since I installed Leopard when it came out. I can't remember if I had any in Tiger. I know I've had them on my G3 iMac in the past though not very many though.
