I've thought about getting one after I graduate (UIC), but now it seems they are no longer available for vanity plates. Another way Illinois has lost getting money from me. I spoke too soon. The UIC plates are able to be vanity, while the Elmhurst can't.

Oh okay, makes sense. I thought the extra money went to the DMV.

Even though it's supposed to go to the schools, the policy is written that the money can be taken for the state General Fund. In Illinois, that's pretty much guaranteed. Only Louisiana pols are more corrupt, but at least they'll buy you a beer and a po'boy with the money they steal. Laissez les bons temps roulez
