At this time of the year I would say forget the iPhone 7 Plus and just wait for September so you can then make up your mind on which phone you want between the iPhone 8, Galaxy S8 or, if it ever get announced, the Galaxy Note 8. Plus, if you choose the S8 you’ll probably have it at a lower price than if you buy it today so waiting is a win-win.

September is only 3 months away and you already have an iPhone SE which is only a one year old phone so it’s not like you are in a urgent need of a new phone.

Just remember that you may be switching from a completely different operating system if you choose the Samsung route, which could be hard to get used to. I have seen a lot of people really enjoying their Samsung phones because of their amazing build quality but quickly go back to an iPhone because of iOS.

Exactly!!

I think I'll keep using the SE and wait to see which one impresses me Apple with iPhone 2017 or Samsung with Note 8.

I no longer have any brand loyalty or even made up "preference".

just want the better product for my money.and that includes better technology, better display and better design not just more user friendly and more reliable software.

I think the S8 is a real eye opener for what level of tech we deserve to get for that much money.

In the meantime I might pick up an S8+ if I can get a substantial offer.

You should get what you want and enjoy it. Not sure what you are looking for as far as comments that would tip the scale in any direction.

No brand loyalty frees you up to try other products for sure. If you want to go the cheap, efficient Android route, there are the Moto G products or OnePlus products. However, if you want the #1 Android OEM, gotta go Samsung. If you're used to reliable customer service and product support, gotta go Google w/ the Pixel XL 2.

Not because it’s 8 months old, the iPhone 7 is an amazing phone and will still be after the release of the iPhone 8 but unless you can have a discount, I don’t see the point of spending 800 dollars on a brand new phone when you know you can have much better for the same price in only 3 months. I mean it’s worth the wait isnt it ?

Yes, it is. I agree. Wait.

People are overstating the rear-FPS issue. It takes adjusting to, but it isn't meant to be the primary security measure. Biometrics can be Iris Scanning or Facial Detection. I think the S8 is great even despite the FPS. If Apple puts one on the back, regardless of current rumors, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
Yeah well I won't buy one with it on the back wether that be iPhone 8 or note 8. The s8 fps location is the stupidest thing I have seen on a phone in awhile.

I have a Ip7 and a Galaxy S8. The Ip7 sits and gathers dust. The S8 and the plus are amazing. Try it for a couple of weeks. You might decide to keep the Galaxy.

Fixating on minor details there or grasping for straws. I would say LG boot-looping is much more stupider with their phones. Or Moto not including NFC in the US, but everywhere else. LG is guilty of making wireless charging region specific along with their G6 DAC.

wrong.
I definitely haven't.
only iPhone 7 Plus is out.

You claimed that you haven't made up your mind. Yet every point you made in this thread so far argued for the Samsung.

You can deny all you want but action speaks louder than words. You just didn't want to pay full price for the Samsung, and want others to talk you out of it.

I just sold my 3 months old iPhone 7,now using my spare iPhone SE while deciding whether I should buy Galaxy S8+ , or wait for next iPhone and Note 8 or just buy an iPhone 7 Plus.

Original plan was to replace my iPhone 7 with 7 Plus.
But seeing Galaxy S8+ ,it's hard to justify buying old,outdated,un-necessary huge design of iPhone 7 Plus at this point.

and iPhone 8 rumours and leaks so far are pointing to an un-attractive design with crazy price tag.

I had the Galaxy S8+ and to me it was a tough decision, I did go back to the iPhone 7+ but debating a return to the galaxy. It is a beautiful fast android phone. It has a headphone out. It supports hi res audio with headphones. It supports FM. The biggest downfall is that it is all glass so either a case is needed, which I hate, or the fear of destruction. Also, the nav bar is white which I hate. There is an app that fixes this most of the time, but certain apps don't recognize the override.

even at the time of writing this reply,I'm still undecided.
it seems you expect people to be and remain completely clueless about their choice when they ask a question like this even after few replies, more thinking and on going research.

They just announced the "Files" app. I haven't read a lot about it yet, but I think it's a huge step in the right direction.
Yes and it was the most interesting thing in the whole iOS 11 presentation imo.
However it seems it's only for iCloud and not devices internal storage.

Agreed, man that thing is ugly, might not stick with iPhone if they have that ugly ass vertical dual camera or that bar at the top

And that's kinda sad because I think they are in the right direction with iOS 11,New iPads and Mac..
but I really don't feel optimistic about new iPhone.
it's going to be hard to match design, quality and features of Galaxy S8..and the $1000 price rumour is just ridiculous and totally unacceptable when S8 exists.
