Walked into my local best buy and snagged a 16gig white wifi model. :D

I have been reading about how alot of you are still waiting for your orders to come in and I just want you to know I feel for you!

My best buy had about 10-12 sitting on the shelf, so hopefully supply is getting better.

I smell a troll.

Me too. He did not say where this bestbuy was at (city, state). So, we cannot verify.

WTF r u gunna do "yeah hi best buy, I am calling to confirm that yesterday at 2:32pm you had stock of an ipad"

Why would he have reason to lie? Just like me, when I said that both Walmart and the Apple stores in the bay area had them in stock... I gain NOTHING by saying they do or do not have them in stock.

Sounds like you have some issues to get over if you think the world is out to trick you. If you want to keep asking others to help by providing feedback, might want to ask which stores he was referring to rather than calling him a troll, because that only makes YOU seem like a troll.

ALL 3 Apple stores here in SF have them in stock in most models, FYI.

What we really need is a separate thread for every single person who buys an iPad in a store. Better yet, a separate forum.

Great! I did this on March 11th at Target. I wasn't compelled to start a new thread though.

Wow, there sure are a lot of friendly people on MR...

I guess I did forget to say it was at best buy in Taylor MI. And I did post in the Michigan iPad thread about this so if anyone local was hunting for one they could go and grab one. I was only trying to be helpful.

The iPad 2 shortage is definitely not over.

Go to the this link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemp...contract_desc=2+YEARS+NEW&pageMode=searchmode (taken from the inventory link post)

and type in 45201 (Cincinnati, OH's zip code). Count how many times you click "See more stores" before one says "Available" or "In stock" or whatever it says (I wouldn't know, I've never seen it).

Then tell me the shortage is over. And that goes for Walmart's around here, and the two Apples stores within a 100 mile radius around me, too, I'm sure.

Agree. I've walked into three Best Buys on different days in Dallas this week, and all of them had 32 gb AT&Ts and others models as well. I've picked up two just this week with no effort. The 64 GB has been a tougher find, however.

exactly i wanta 64 black AT&T which according to the Apple store closest to me is "the most popular" so I ordered online after a week of lines at 3 stores. Though I could get a black verizon 64gb with no problem at that same store, I just refuse to settle for CDMA and a model I don't want. Not when I'm spending that much money.

I wouldn't settle if your going to spend that much either, but you'll still be pissed when you try to stream a you-tube video and you see what I mean.

Really? My store claims the 64GB WiFi-only is the most popular. Maybe since I'm in San Francisco and AT&T blows it's not as popular. The top sellers initially here were the 16GB 3G AT&T because people were buying them to ship to Hong Kong\China\Philippines\Singapore to resell for $2000, lol

Just the opposite at my local BB. My last visit ended with the employee telling me there were hardly any reserves for the Black 64 GB wifi only model and I should be called very soon.

We'll see.

I'm sure demand for models is very diverse depending on region. When I was in the midwest last year when the iPad came out they said the cheapest models were the only ones they could sell.... CA is pretty affluent, so they sell the higher end models, and I'd imagine across the country where the 3G is good they sell a lot of the 3G models. Here in SF AT&T's network speeds are a joke, so if someone wants a 3G\4G tablet they really learn toward Verizon's Xoom from those I know.

I'm thinking of returning my iPad for a Xoom. After switching from iPhone to an Android phone in January, I kinda hate iOS, it doesn't do half the stuff Android can do, and I get bored really quick with my iPad :-( Anyone wanna buy my iPad? lol. Apple got rid of restock fees, right?

Best Buy Dallas - 75/Walnut Hill has...

..several 16 GB Wi-Fis available (looked like 7 or 8), and are releasing holds on 64 GB AT&T models. Just walked in an bought one. They had 10 this morning, and are releasing more this afternoon. The key is to ask a blue shirt in the computer dept, not the guy in the black Apple shirt.

Not bragging, but I have now purchased three for the family by just walking in to Best Buys on separate days and asking if they can release any holds. If you ask if they have any in stock, they'll say no; but if you ask about the holds, they will actually check the list to see if any can be released.

I can't imagine that to be a hard find, considering its the least sought after version (no offense, to each his own). If it were a 32 or 64 ATT that would be a different story.

I spent 2 days at Apple Stores in San Antonio Early as well. I was the first person to "not get one". I got on here, checked the Target inventory trackers and the Target on 35S had a 64GB white wifi. I called and they put it behind the counter for me. I had Zero luck with BB.

There are some seriously bitter people on the board lately.

OP, good for you! I spent last Saturday hitting the various BB's and two Apple retail stores in San Antonio and came up empty handed. I had to feed my technology craving and bought a WiFi Xoom (Costco - 90 day no questions asked return policy).

Baileys crossroads BB has one 16 and one 32 wifi in stock both black. I just walked in myself and picked up a 32. No line and who would want a 16 I have over 24g in apps and I just returned my zoom at Costco it was great for sync to my evo but screen lag was driving me crazy. I would touch a link wait ..... Touch again and scrolling and pinching or expanding was even worse not smooth like the iPad. Don't waste your time I'd say money but you'll get that back when you return it.
