you mean how many stocks do I own in apple ;)

I'm korean and I used to live in Korea and I know that LG (Korean company) is an ok company but samsung(also another korean company, of course everyone knows that) there is compared to sony here and LG is what you call Vizio here (used analogy of hdtvs to give you an idea of quality/performance/and where the products stand). But then all of Asia sony is #1 =/

I love my sony bravia xbr4 its the best hdtv I've ever laid my eyes on, I'm what you call a video/picture phile and a minor in audiophile. And no I'm not a sony fan boy, I dont own a sony ps3 and probably will get one as a bluray player later on but for now I love my xbox 360. Streaming wmv 1080p/720p movie right off my mbp/MP is awesome and with a modded xbox 360 I pretty much have every single game + get the games a week before the release.

Just whatever product is great I love and I dont really care about which brand names. I love apple, sony (hdtv and ps3 + ericsson, yea I know they dont really fully own ericsson per say),samsung, dell (yes an apple lover still loves dells), B & W (Bowers & Wilkins), Sharp, Docomo.

you remind me of me:D
and i have a PS3 and still attached to my Sony Vaio PCGk25 even though it's almost 4 yrs old.
i trust Samsung with my LCD HDTV. because their price is lower compared to the Sony Bravia.

I agree though samsung hdtv's are very nice in quality and especially nothing can beat their quality/price. But that sony bravia xbr series... just nothing beats its quality no matter what! I'm just too into picture/video quality!:D

Man watching a full 1080p via xbox 360 the movement (motion enhancer on the sony bravia) and the eye candy and detail is unbelievable. Its like something I've never seen in my entire life and I've watched full 1080p movies on other hdtv's. Watching it on the bravia xbr4 feels like I've never seen a true hd all this time and so far everything I've seen/watched was fake hd.

I remember I had friends over and my cousins as well for the first time I showed them the movie Ratatouille and ninja turtles the one in 3d, Meet the robinsons, shoot em up, shrek the 3rd and their jaws were wide open and couldnt believe wtf they were watching. They were just silent the whole time then all at once was like wtf I've never seen it so damn clear and smooth like I'm watching a 5th dimension movie and peeking to watch the characters in the movie from a window!

Also the reason I spent the extra $$ is that tv's last alot longer than computers hehe so the bravia will be a good hdtv for another 5-10 years.

I have the sony pearl projecter, which is using the same technology at 16,000 :1 contrast and its amazing.

What kind of screen do I have?

Where do I look to find out if I have LG, 9c81, or whatever?? I'm sorry if it's buried somewhere in this thread, I spent ~10 minutes reading and my eyes are tired :)

I've had my MBP 1.5 weeks, and it has shown the vertical bars defect (backlight bleed) on two occasions. The first time I thought it was a perceptual thing because I had just turned the lights off. The second time was a week later, and it fixed as soon as I sleeped/unsleeped the computer. I was miserable to read that this is a short-circuit / bleed defect and needs repair. I have custom config, which in a way makes things simpler / less stressful since I have to repair it, not exchange by mailing back to China (even though it is < 14 days). So, when I get around to it I'm planning to get the screen replaced. BUT... from what you all are saying I wonder if I should stick with it, buy the 3-year warranty, and wait as long as possible -- maybe in 2 years when it dies completely Apple will have improved their screens!
