I have the series 6 and I’m waiting another year. 6 to 9 will be a big jump, or maybe I’ll go with the Ultra 2.
If you are going to get the stainless steel series 8, then the Ultra is an easy buy if you like the style. If not, the extra cost is difficult to justify.

Stop looking to others for validation. Make your own choice. Best advice I can give you on the subject.
But that’s why I’m here, that’s why I asked the question.

I mean, yeah, I just like shiny things and I’m massive apple fan boy. To be honest I’d probably be bullied by my colleagues for getting the ultra but 99.95% doesn’t care… so… I dunno - no clearer.

I am coming from an alu series 5 with a ton of scratches all over the display so this year I was getting a sapphire display no matter what so price wis eat eUltra was a no brainer for me.

If you have been happy with a base non LTE aluminum model then the series 8 will probably be plenty for you. If you are going to do any upgrades over the base series 8 then ultra is probably at least worth a try.

For me there is no way I would accept scratch on my watch. So it's been a S5 SS and now S7 Ti.

I do bike ride of 8 hours+ and I would like a better battery (I have killed mine a few time, I use it to track heart rate with my bike computer). I got my S7 in December and my battery health is already down to 90%...

Anyway, if it's not that my wrist are 6 inch diameter I would be all over the ultra. It's basically the same price as the S7 Ti of last year and about the same as the SS.

Pre ordered the series 8. I’m jumping up from a series 6. Obviously now I just want the Ultra and I’m desperately trying to find ways to justify it/not justify it. I’m totally torn. Can someone talk some sense to me please.
which S8? 45? 41? Celluar? All? SS? you want "someone" to talk sense into you without basic information?

Tell your colleagues to pound sand, and a grown man shouldn't tolerate being "bullied" by anybody anyways. Nobody should base their purchase choices off what other people think of them. If you want the watch and can afford it, that's justification enough.

Exactly my thinking as well.

Oh god there’s always one. It’s a 45mm Alu GPS. Stop being such a moaner.

Or maybe it’s basic information that helps people formulate a better response. Not sure why you’re asking the question of the group if you’re going to respond to people like this.

Monty Python is funny. Maybe you’re not as clever as you think.

Anyway, if you have the money and want the Ultra get it. I’m going to enjoy the hell out of mine. What other people think about your watch or what you do with your money is none of your business.

The Ultra's much longer battery life and larger screen allows you to leave the iPhone at home more often. The better Bluetooth and better GPS all justify the purchase.

Classic case of FOMO. Get a grip!

…there, did it help? 😎

On a more serious note: if you have the money to spare, why not order it from Apple and try it on? Maybe you realize it’s not for you because of the size (it’s a chunky one!), or maybe it’s the best watch you ever used…

I hate spending money on something, and immediately wishing I had bought something else. For instance I don’t need the 1250 motorcycle, but if I bought the 850 I’d drive off the lot staring at the 1250 thinking “Aw man”

If you buy the 8 and are sad you didn’t buy the Ultra, was it worth buying it at all?

Go Ultra! It’s the one you really want!
