OK, let's start with the system requirements for iLife 08, then I will list current incompatibilities with your system below them:
System Requirements
* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 processor.
* iMovie requires a Mac with an Intel processor, a Power Mac G5 (dual 2.0GHz or faster), or an iMac G5 (1.9GHz or faster).
* iDVD requires a 733MHz or faster processor.
* 512MB of RAM; 1GB recommended. High-definition video requires at least 1GB of RAM.
* Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later.
* 3GB of available disk space.
* DVD drive required for installation.
* QuickTime 7.5 or later.
* Other configurations may be supported. AVCHD video and 24-bit recording have additional requirements. Visit iMovie 08 Camcorder Support for more information on AVCHD.
* 24-bit recording in GarageBand 08 requires a Mac OS X compatible audio interface with support for 24-bit audio. Please consult the owners manual or manufacturer directly for audio device specification and compatibility.
* Burning DVDs requires an Apple SuperDrive or compatible third-party DVD burner.
* iPhoto print products are available in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and select countries in Europe and Asia Pacific. Internet access required; fees and terms apply.
* iWeb requires Internet and web server access (MobileMe recommended).
* Some features in iLife require MobileMe. MobileMe is available to persons age 13 and older. Annual subscription fee and Internet access required. Terms and conditions apply.
Your current setup will first require Tiger installation with all the free updates applied to get it to 10.4.11 (Software Update will take care of that once Tiger is installed).
You will NOT be able to run the version of iMovie that is included in iLife 08 because of a requirement that it be a G5 or Intel processor. That is no big deal but what most people consider a far more capable version (iMovie HD which came with iLife 06) is available as a free download on Apple's site.
You will have to make sure that Quicktime is updated to at least 7.5 since I don't know what version you currently have (software update will prompt you for that after you install Tiger also)
To burn DVDs (to actually USE iDVD) you will need an external burner attached to your system
Other than that, you seem to be ok now with your current system specs. I would suspect that whenever the next version of iLife comes out that the minimum specs will be raised quite a bit (I would not be surprised to find out that G4 support is removed at least in more of the applications), so you might want to install this version while you still can.
