I love amazon as well. But I want to know what’s being done to recycle the sickening amount of packaging. I promise you, it’s only a matter of time until the headlines describing some huge mountain of extra waste caused by our convenience.

Because I am in an urban area that is well-served by Amazon, many deliveries are made via Amazon themselves as opposed to UPS or FedEx. That's where the problem comes in, I suspect, as far as deliveries made to the wrong address, etc. Someone driving a hired Enterprise van (paid for by Amazon) who may or may not be well trained and/or very familiar with his or her delivery route(s) is likely to have difficulties, and I understand that. Mistakes do happen....

Packaging is another interesting situation, isn't it? I've received items that were appropriately packaged in a bubble envelope and I've received fragile items that were in a much-too-large box with maybe a couple of those air-filled "balloon" things and little other protection to keep the actual item in its own box from rattling around. Fortunately nothing has arrived broken yet! And, yes, at times I've received a huge box when a much smaller one would have done perfectly well for the item(s) contained within..... As for disposal of the boxes, I simply break them down and take them to our recycling area and that's that.
