What does shorting it at $250 mean?

Does it mean you are "borrowing" it at $250, and then reselling it?

Yes, I was referring to short selling it on margin. I can provide you with detailed information on this and other investing tactics if you're interested, I'm very involved in "finance stuff". ;)

Heh heh - thanks PlaceofDis, from what I recall reading in various posts and threads, you're fairly well-rounded as well. Yeah, I like to learn as much as I can about, well, everything, and be very diverse. One of the quotes in my old sig stated "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom", and I believe that - only by experiencing as much of life and as many varied areas as possible (i.e. in "excess") will one truly be wise. Just check out my Interests in my profile for a sampling of what I keep busy with.

I don't hate them...yet. In fact, at the moment, I like google, a lot. Google is the only search engine I have ever used on a regular basis, and it's the best.
But Google just seems like they are starting to get money signs in their eyes. I just hope they don't end up flushing their company down the drain. *cough*Microsoft*cough*

Look at what Google has done to dominate the IT industry

#1 Google Search > Yahoo/MSN search
#2 Gmail > Hotmail
#3 Google Talk > Skype
#4 Google Office > Microsoft Office
#5 Google Base > eBay
#6 Google Wallet > PayPal

Wondering what happen when Google switch to fee-based services?

While I do think Google is great and would do basically anything in the world to work for them, I think we must try to see the dangers that a Google monopoly comes with. If they are your only source of information, if you rely upon their email system, if you use Google Talk and find phone phone numbers in Google directory - you rely on something that could easily backfire, just like the whole Microsoft thing did years ago. But... I really do like Google. I think they are an amazing company and everything they touch turns into gold. I just wish they touched me*g*

But for now, I'm trying not to use Google whereever I can.

Monopoly is 'evil'

Another vote for Google. As ~Shard~ has just mentioned Google Earth is one of the best.

The only thing Google has failed to do is to fail.

I'd love to check out Google Earth... but alas I'm a one Mac houshold here.
I just after I bought my beautiful PB mid 04 I gave my PC (and all associated accessories) to my brother.

Come on Google!!

I like playing around with their satellite maps. Finding Area 51 for the first time was pretty fun, as my old manager did some work there once...
He's probably sterile!

Hmm, come to think of it he doesn't have kids...

Yeah, some of the work he was doing there made my top secret military contract work for the Pentagon look like a grade 4 science project at the time... cool stuff, bordering on scary...
