I have both blacks on order with the Jet Black due to arrive first.
I keep going back and forth. This time 48 hours ago I was 90% convinced I wanted the Matt Black and that the Jet Black felt too plasticky.
Went back in to the Apple Store again yesterday and spent more time holding and playing on them and I feel like I've changed my mind again. Thought the Jet Black looked nice and it also has better grip (I don't use a case so this is a big deal for me).
Thanks for sharing your opinions and photos. I think I'm back in camp Jet Black!

I upgraded from a 6 Plus. This phone feels like a big upgrade to me. The new color is awesome. It feels like a new design with the Jet Black. The new speakers are so much louder. The fingerprint sensor is so much faster. 3D touch is really cool. The dual camera system is great. The new zoom is great. Overall the phone feels lightning fast. My old phone had 1gb of ram so the 3gb on this new phone is very welcome. iOS 10 is great too. Night shift is one of my favorite new software features. I also love the new messaging features.

All in all, I love this phone. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Sooo beautiful. I keep almost pulling the trigger on getting a MB since I hate using my mom's old 5C (no music, no apps) until my JB comes in November (Damn it! why did I let her trade my 6 for a 7 at AT&T!! Grr!) And then I see photos like this and ya pull me back in love with JB again. For now, I will just keep chanting, "it is only two months, it is only two months..."

It will come earlier! Hold out it's worth it. I've seen people in other threads with a Jet Black date of Oct 18-Oct 31 already turn to preparing for shipment, and I think a few have shipped. It'll be much sooner than November if I had to bet.

I agree, I don't think anybody that was quoted a date into November will wind up waiting that long before they receive their JB phone. From what I can tell and based on what others are saying in the other threads, it sounds like Apple is doing their best to churn out the phones as fast as they can and get them in customer's hands.

I'm thinking most of the pre-orders and online orders will be fulfilled by mid-October at the latest and stock will slowly build up to the point where you can place an order online or walk into the store and pick it up without much hassle. It's not really in Apple's best interests to delay getting people their phones if at all possible.

Official Black Silicon Apple Case:
PqyicaF.jpg

Like many here, I've been going back and forth as well. These are great pics and help me justify the long wait. Thanks for posting them.

Question: How do you like the silicone case with your JB? Does it make the phone less grippy? Even though I'll carry my phone naked when possible, I'll have to use a case fairy often because I have young children. I'll probably go with either this or the Apple leather case.

Same here, the glossy finish actually does make it feel very different much to my surprise. Strangely a lot easier to handle with one hand as it is a bit more grippy than the matte aluminum on my 6S+. And the camera is amazing. The f1.8 aperture makes a huge difference in both exposure and bokeh when shooting macro (So 7 users don't worry, you get most of the benefits anyways.) The 58mm lens is a nice addition but limited in use given it's f2.8 aperture. You can quickly tell the difference in low light when you compare two shots. Although I am pretty stoked to try out the new portrait mode once 7.1 is released.

Also the new home button has really grown on me, I actually now prefer it to the physical button on my iPad. Took a bit to get used to and to un-train my old fingernail clicks (to make sure to not activate the touch ID sensor) but after a day or so I was on board.

One more thing - yes it does scratch. Mine already has a few microscratches on the back, but you can only see them if you are looking for them. No drops or scrapes yet so I don't know how it will handle those.

really not into my jet black.

coming from gold 6s to a 7 JB 256GB.

in fact, im on the phone with customer service @ the moment for an exchange to a rose gold.
