I would like to collect just every iPod that was ever made and just have them to look at. I'd imagine it'd be a lot of money though...

Some of you guys have amazing collections. I envy you people.

Who couldn't love all iPods though? As with other apple products, they're simply works of art.

last year i took my ipod 2g to school and everyone in my year (who only noticed ipods existed when the ipod minis came out) kept saying "is that a real ipod'

I am one of those gotta have the latest and greatest guys .... But I have a lot of respect for where all our favorite stuff evolved from. Awesome collections you all have! :apple:

my pride and joy :)

I was really wondering if posting those was a bad idea.... ;)

Haha, I look way different now though.

Honestly man, it was a crappy thing to say even with the j/k (which i was!) added... The username is odder than the pics. Stand up straight homey, puff out that chest, walk with a swagger... Screw the "i'm pathetic" stuff...

I assume you guys have seen the massive iPod collection thread in the iPod forum also? Hoooly smokes some kids have some truly great collections. I've got a ton of iPods but most of them are busted in some way or another... Nothing worth showing off...

I've still got my original 1st gen iPod, purchased in late November 2001. It was still working when I put it in storage, but the battery life was measured in minutes, not hours and the Firewire charging was kinda wonky (you have to wiggle the plug to get it *just right* before it will charge).

Still have my 3G 40gig. Use it everyday. My wife uses it every night. (She wakes up around 2 am and can't go back to sleep without listening to something). Love the 3G.
Also have a 1st gen Mini (is that the only version?)
Also have 4 (four) 2nd gen shuffle. This ipod, in my opinion, was the acme of design. The perfect marriage of form and function. Apple should have quit when they designed it - they can't do any better. :D

I have an original Gen 1 5gb in the box. A gift from someone- whom I cannot name.

What's it worth?

Uhh... boy that's interesting. I wouldn't normally care in the slightest who gave you the iPod, but after hearing you say you CAN'T tell us I become very curious... so how long have you been seeing Mr. Wozniak? Does his wife know? ;):D

I have a 3G that's been sitting in a tropical drawer for about 5 years (uh oh). Dropped it a month after it was given to me and it never worked again - pretty certain the HD died (click, click, click). At the time the replacement drive prices were ridiculous, but one of these days I'll fit it with a Compact Flash drive or build it into a home stereo box.

I always loved the red touch buttons.

I have a 2nd gen 20GB and I bought my wife a 3rd gen 30GB when I got my aluminum PBG4 in '03. Haven't used either in a while though.

I love the 3g, the red/orange LEDs look absolutely fantastic. Apple was really at the height of their design when they came out with the G4 line and the first few generation iPods.

I used to have an original U2 iPod, which I dropped, breaking the stupid ribbon cable connector off of the main board. I don't even know what I did with it. I've got a green iPod Nano 2nd gen that I got for free, it's stuck in DFU mode and isn't recognized by itunes.

I still have my first generation Ipod, it cost me a fortune to grab it from the states on launch but I didn't care. I wasn't even bothered about having to spend half my life trying to get Xplay to work as I didn't have a Mac.

In 2001 everyone thought Minidisc was high tech, my Ipod was just far too cool. "It's so small" etc.

Nowdays, 9 years on, it sits on the mantel piece in my bedroom, only replaced now because I want to make sure I don't break it (it's first replacement is now in bits after being torn appart in a revolving door) so now I use an 80GB form day to day. I'm grabbing a 4th Gen Iphone on work expenses (testing don't you know) so I'll be moving to that one soon and the 80GB can stay in the car

Love old iPod too

Missing an Sealed iPod Photo HP 30Gb and an iPod mini gray 4Gb 2nd on the photo.

Great photo! Having never seen them before, I was amazed how much packaging the early iPods had! I have a 2nd Gen iPod Shuffle (light blue, 1GB) and I love it very much! It's still going strong and even when I get an iPhone I'm hoping to keep it.
