I purchased 5S in March, and I love it. It is still a very capable device. My only complaint is battery life. However, I do get size envy when I see my friends' bigger phones.

I'm glad you are liking it @TSE but I could never go back to that small screen.

The small screen, in my opinion, is an advantage! Fits in my pocket well, typing texts on one hand is a breeze, and I love it!

Only thing I really DO use my phone for is Google Maps, Texting, and occasionally Facebook and web browsing on the toilet, though!

Same thought about battery life. It lasts me through a day, almost everytime, but once every a few weeks I'd like one more hour out of it. That'd be enough for my usage, which I consider pretty casual. Anyway, the tiny bit of added battery life I'd like is not enough for me to buy the 6 over it.
The only phone I'd buy if I was really desperate for battery life is the plus, and that's out of the question due to size.

I hate typing out texts on the 5S in portrait because the keys are too small and in landscape, it's too spread out and too much of the screen is taken up by the keyboard.

The 6+ and 6S+ are perfect size as far as texting goes for me. I just hate using swipe because of the horrible words it thinks I'm trying to type. Gotta find something better.

I do agree with this. The only thing I really wish the 5S would have is a bit longer battery life. This was my first iPhone, and I have to say it's probably the worst smartphone battery life I've had... I've had a Samsung Galaxy S 4G and a Lumia 710.

Have you adjusted the brightness?

Turn the brightness down. I have mine at the setting in the screen cap and it is acceptable as far as battery life goes. The screen isn't too dim to do anything either.

I've found its better since iOS 9, due to the battery saver mode

I've noticed my battery on the 5s last longer by anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour extra with it turned on.

OP that's great that you found the phone that's best for you. Personally, I did not care for the 5/5s but to each their own. To be honest I miss the 3s. :)

iPhone 3GS. Still works and holds a charge. I bough this one used years ago and AT&T unlocked it so I could use it on T-Mobile back in the day.

For what it's worth, both my mom and dad just got themselves an iPhone 5s (they don't go for the latest, but they do like having a phone that's still fast and gets updates). Of course I tried them out, since I've got an 6s (and prior to this one I had the 6). I think it's really fast for a phone that's already a few years old. Heck, I honestly did not really expect that. I knew iOS 9 runs fine on it, but to me it even feels just like a smaller iPhone 6/6s.

It's a very good phone for the next few years to come. That's for sure. :)

By the way, I do have to say it feels like a toy compared to my 6s, haha. But my parents actually don't really care about all of this. They think 4 inch is pretty good after all.

The 5S was my favourite iPhone out of all the ones I've owned (see below), mainly the design but I definitely prefer the bigger screen sizes of the newer iPhones.

5S was a good phone, but looks and feels like a toy once you've used a bigger one for 2 minutes.

I feel the same way after going from my brothers iPad back to my 4th gen iPod touch, or my dads ZTE Boost Max (that thing has a 5.7 inch screen) back to my phone (4.5 inch)

I have a 3GS still aswell! It is a good phone, unfortunately, mine doesnt hold a charge very long anymore :/ I mean, it lasts, but certainly not long enough to make it through the day. It's been reduced to iPod status these days

How does it look like a toy?? My space grey 5s looks slicker than either my 6 or my 6s!

Not only is its a nicer space grey colour than the "silver" on the 6s, its also got no antenna lines, a flush camera, and a sweet aluminum/glass combo along with those chamfered edges. Its a much nicer looking device. It arguably doesn't feel as good in the hands due to the edges vs curvature (personal preference though...I prefer the curved design feel of the 6/6s) but to say it looks like a toy???

That is just completely off base imo, and a fair bit of hyperbole as well....it still looks better than most phones on the market, the 6/6s included.

Anyone else holding on to their trusty iPhone 5S?!

I was having battery difficulties with mine, went to the Apple Store, they discovered the battery was bulging and they offered to sell me an identical brand new iPhone 5S for $80! I took it! Couldn't be happier!

Best size on any phone out there, looks sexy, and is compact and feels great. Plan on using the 5S for at least two more years! Space Grey all the way!

Was it brand new or refurbished? Usually the units they give out because of issues like this are refurbished ones. Did it come in a box? The refurb'ed ones usually have special packaging.

It's still a good phone but I couldn't go back to it after using the large phones. I find it a chore to type on these days and the battery life is noticeably less than the newer iPhones.

I was the owner of a 5s till about 2 weeks ago. sold it on ebay to help me buy the new 6s. I wanted a larger screen, and I really like it

One thing I must say about the 5/5s. The moment I picked one in the store, I wanted to buy it, because of its lightness as compared to the 4 which I had at the time. Not so at all with the 6/6s. It feels too heavy. I hope Apple is able to offer a lighter weight design in future.

As much as I love my 5S, I will definitely be upgrading to the 7 as soon as it launches.
