The air can focus on things closer up then the pro with no zoom too, as a way to compensate for not having as much zoom.. people saying air owners are overcompensating about the camera is silly when I have seen two reviews from real photographers that have gone into detail about the differences.. anyone can look it up, it really is the opposite. It seems more like pro owners are trying to overcompensate because they thought the 1x was superior. They are the same just tweaked for there format and space to cram into. One has a larger sensor, the other a larger arpenture. I’m sorry to both sides but that is the truth.

I'm interested in hearing about using the Air camera in macro mode. Does it have disadvantages in extreme close-up work compared to the regular 17?

Dude, you don’t need to make up excuses to switch to the Pro. We get it. Your current toy is already boring and you feel like getting a new one. Not everything has to be justified by “need.”

I already own a 17 Pro Max. What other observations do you have to share?

You realize that I wasn’t the one that took the photo right? Not sure how you missed it since I’M IN THE BAD PHOTO.
Every time I hand my phone off to someone to take a picture they always always come out crappy, even with a Pro Max phone.... Most people just quickly point and shoot, they don't frame and they don't make any adjustments for lighting.

I’m personally finding that I’m preferring the photos taken at 1x and 2x on the Air a bit more than the ones taken on my 17 Pro Max. The processing is just less… obvious. And therefore more appealing (to my eyes).

Perhaps that’s due to the nature of the smaller sensor on the Air vs Pro, but when it comes to just pointing and shooting, without zoom, I’m reaching for the Air instead of the Pro Max the majority of the time.

huh. first pic was a selfie. so definitely you

second pic you took as well cuz its just your wife

only 3rd pic was taken by someone else

In any case, all 3 photos were taken in terrible lighting and just point and shoot with zero framing. Even using a 17pro would still turn out terrible.

Lol yeah right. The first two pictures turned out fine and aren't bad at all. But nice reach.
