Seriously dude please take your antenna arguments elsewhere. That is not the point of this thread and there are plenty of threads for you to discuss the antenna.
I'm only replying to people, which afterall is the point of a discussion forum.

I'm fine with Apple's response. I do think it's a vocal minority and the press jumping on the bandwagon. Sorry you're all having issues. I think you're in the minority with that and from the sound of it Apple will be taking care of you. If not, just bring it back for a refund and get an Evo.
Problem solved. Why is that so hard to get across?
There is so such thing as a small percentage of users having the problems. All the damn iPhones are experiencing this. Those that dont notice it let it slide because theyre the big time fanboys that would suck Steve Jobs cock if they had the chance. Don't you all get it? This free bumper **** is to appease the masses, it doesnt fix ****. Like the Romans with their coliseum games, its just to make the poor people feel like theyre being taken cared of. It amazes me how many of you do not realize this. This is a business, it is about not losing money. Not about making customers happy. Did Apple have to give out free bumpers? NO, but guess what. It was the CHEAPEST way to get everyone to be a little quieter about the issue. And it worked, because you are all SHEEP. Now...begin calling me names and what not, it wont matter, I'll know its a defensive mechanism. You read this paragraph, my job is done.
I'm VERY pleased with the press conference and how Steve handled himself with this issue. He didn't have to give away free cases and praise us users, but he did. Apple's response to this issue and acknowledging the proximity issue and responding this fast makes me an even happier Apple customer.
Who else is with me?![]()
Apple is held to a higher standard and they have responded as such.
You're joking right? He basically said here's a bumper, now shut up.
No YOU'RE joking, right? That's the most cynical view imaginable. Apple was forthcoming during this press conference, provided statistics, identified the issue, offered a free bumper solution, showed how other phones behave in exactly the same way, and said they will continue to improve the product.
My Palm phone acted the same way when held in my left hand to the point of dropping calls. I went through five of those crappy things, all had the same issue on Verizon. Did anyone scream at Palm for selling a defective product and at Verizon for having a crappy network? Did Palm hold a press conference and offer free cases?
People like you will never be happy because you view everything through your half empty glass. I think Apple did an awesome job - more than any other company would have done in this circumstance. I admire Apple for having this conversation with its customers. I'm more impressed with Apple today than at any other time. Good on them for having this press conference.
He Should have talked about AT&T and how bad their network is too.
Statistics aren't proven. What we were told could have been manipulated, easily to suit them.
Again, it's a PR stunt. Apple didn't have conversation with its customers, it had conversation, with the press media.
