    Hello,

I've finally the money and now i want to buy a good I mac 5k.

I think it's looking very good and the display seems to have good resolution.

Do you recommend me to buy a Imac how has been your experience so far with it ?

This is the model which i'm thinking to buy :

    - Core i5 3,3 Ghz
    - 2 TB Fusion Drive
    - Radeon M395
    - MK482D/A

I'm wanting a machine without trouble it should just work.

    Regards

Well, I'm sure there's lots of people that don't have problems with iMacs, so you could buy one and also buy Apple Care and you'd be safe technically for 3 years.

Personally, I am going to get my iMac fixed through Apple Care and then build a custom computer and make a Hackintosh. Sadly this will be abit harder to maintain than the iMac but the benefits will be worth it for me:

    1. a hackintosh will perform better for the dollar

    2. if 1 component of the hackintosh breaks I can easily swap it out for another part

    3. the build quality will be much better than the iMac

I've already a hackintosh and it's working well.

I also have the option to buy a i7 6700k with gtx 1080.

But sadly GTX 1080 isn't currently supported.

If you are already comfortable with hackintoshing then I strongly advise upgrading your current system with an i7, 4k IPS display and holding out until we have 1080 drivers. ATM you could get a 970 or 980 which is pretty good.

edit: if you get a 4k display I would avoid LG. Lots of image retention with LG panels in macbooks and imacs, and I've been looking into buying their 34" curved 4k display myself but some reports on reddit that it runs hot and some people were also reporting retention there....

    That would be really great.

    So for exact 2500 € i could get I7 6700 k with GTX 1080.

This build would outperform any existing I mac.

That might be difficult considering how few options there are, and how many of them are rebranded LG panels.
