I hope more people start to realize that this is a REAL issue. Just because it hasn't happened to you yet, doesn't mean it's fake or someone's trying to sell Samsung phones.

It definitely is an issue for some users. The question is whether this is a widespread problem caused by the design, or a QC issue at FoxConn or other manufacturer. I'm not ready to declare the 6/6+ inherently defective, but I don't discount that the issues are real.

Well this is obviously fake. I know this because Consumer Reports tested a different spot on the iPhone 6 and determined that spot - different than the spot you want us to believe is bent on your phone - was no more susceptible to bending than any other mass market phone.

Consumer Reports: 1
You: 0
Apple: $699

English?

Looks like the bend is in the same spot as all the other pictures.

Unless the OP is referring to other forums that he made fun of I don't see anything in his post history since before the iPhone 6 came out of him making fun of anybody in terms of Bendgate. Hmm.

Agreed. "Don't put the phone in your pocket"......seriously? Where would you recommend I put it then?

I'm thinking it may be a bad batch, as Apple claims they did x amount of thousands of tests, and real world tests. Surely they would've caught this as it's always bending in the same area.

Belt clip or haven't you heard of one before. Goodness.

Unfortunately, the weak point on most of the cases out there are near the volume rockers. The easiest spot to bend on the Apple leather case is also the weakest point of the phone. The case is poorly designed. The iphone 5 leather case is much stronger near the volume rocker. I also had the Spigen Thin fit and Incipio Dual Pro, and both have their weakest spot near the volume rockers. Quite easy to bend. Sent those back. Finally got my Spigen thin armor today, and appears to be much tougher to bend near those volume rockers, so am keeping that case for my 6 Plus.

You'd like to think so. But obviously something has gone wrong somewhere. If it was one specific area all bought from the same shop that would be a different issue. But it's from all over the world.

But you know. Wrap it in bubble wrap and buy a special briefcase with foam in with just a cut out for your phone. If you don't do that then when your phone bends from, erm, being in your pocket then it's 100% your fault because Apple can never do anything wrong ever. And could never ever possibly have made a mistake or have quality control issues ever. Because apple are completely perfect.

At a push wear it on a belt clip like we're in 1996 but whatever you do don't lean over.

Phones from the same plant manufactured in the same day can go to just about any part of the world. The serial number contains enough information for Apple to figure out if there is a correlation between bent phones and a specific manufacturing facility.

It very well could be a bad batch, or it could be a design defect present in all phones. We just don't know, and anybody claiming to know is lying.

Way to go super sleuth however he never mentioned posting about it. Says he made fun of the hoopla. :D

Besides he a reddit link, there are tons more bent iPhone users posting pics there and I would wager a large majority of them aren't members here. Some people aren't into Apple stuff as much as you and I are but post when their phone is messed up.

Come on now. The Apple case is poorly designed because it's less reinforced by the volume buttons? Since when is the Apple case designed to bolster the structural integrity of the phone? Since never, that's when.

I am thinking it is a victim of it's thin design, there is only so thin you can go without some form of spar or truss structure before the surface area makes it easy to bend.

iFixit has a couple of tear downs now, looks pretty thin to me and I work with alloys a lot in some of my work for custom camera rigging.

The 6+ tear down..

The 6 tear down...

I'm going to go with not a bad batch but a design and test oversight on Apple's part. I'm super careful with my 6 and it is perfectly straight thus far. Here's to hoping, LOL!

Not everyone carries out all their conversations in life just through internet forums.

i heard they are not allowing returns due to bends even if unintentional, directive from top. let us know if true and good luck

He made fun of people who said there phones were bent so god bent his iPhone while he was sleeping

Martians.

It's not a phone. It's a small tablet. It doesn't belong in your pocket. It belongs in your purse.

I'll treat it like all my other phones until it is renamed the inotpocketableminicomputerthancanmakecalls.

I'm not seeing it.

Of course it bent! He's using it as an iPhone 5 holder.

And if the condition of those poor chamfered edges is any indication, the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. "Get off me! You're bending me, bitch!"

Yeah, no kidding. It "belongs" wherever the owner chooses to put it. By the same token the owner needs to take responsibility for whatever consequences result. Not exactly rocket science.

and this is why thinner is not better

well will this company learn?

I agree! I really think that Apple has backed themselves in a corner with the thinner and lighter thing. Each new phone they like to brag about how much thinner and lighter it is than the previous model. Now Apple HAS to do it for each model! Lol. But seriously, if this "Bendgate" isnt proof of this, what is?

Thinner is always better.

Learn.

no, it's not.

the phone is pretty much unusable without a case. slips out of your hand easily and is uncomfortable to hold.

thank goodness for the silicone case, because i probably wouldn't be using this phone
