That is my point. The sccissor lift mechanism and under the key had multiple revisions and wouldn't work. So
good luck to you and hope it works! So I couldn't just swap the keys.

Wow! Even in the Retina version? Well I reckon I'll cross my fingers! :-/

You make a good point!

I did a hardware test and monitored the cooling temperatures. I haven't noticed anything odd, but just in case I probably need to let them check it out.

What could they do to check if something is wrong? Do they have so e sort of system test or do you think they would actually take it part?

If you tell them what happened due to heat etc... They will have to open it up and see that nothing else is bent out of shape inside. If the keys melted then they might check to see if the soldering on the board inside is intact. Though it takes more heat to melt lead, they might just check to make sure.

Since you got it new and obviously wanted to protect it and did an overkill :)

But check it out with them so there are no issues down the road.

Lay off the skins for a month or so... have a nice microfiber cloth to keep it clean and a nice sleeve or a case.

If you really use this in tough conditions then a Panasonic tough book might be a better choice.

Did you?

Tell me you complained to the sticker seller?

You're supposed to use the blow dryer at the lowest setting and aim down onto the computer not directly - exactly where the sticker meets the edge duh ! Well if you wasted all that money on an idiotic cosmetic face lift, you should be fully responsible for replacing the damages you inflicted onto your own notebook, period. End of discussion.

Hey I'm sorry, You sound aggressive. I wasn't trying to prove anything or get some sort of handout, I was just sharing a story with some pictures.

I'm Sorry, your response sounds like I personally hurt you.

Surely you've made some mistakes and wanted to share them ;)

i have a retina 15"....

Oh really? I reckon that was a total comeback FAIL just like my rMBP :D

Don't worry buddy! I did the same thing to my MBP 13 inch. Ordered about 6 keys off replacementkeys.com and found all of them fitted fine, except for the escape key/Function key row keys...

Good News!

The Used Replacement Keyboard I bought from eBay came in today and the keys fit perfectly.

Now I have an entire used keyboard with six keys missing :D

I reckon I'll try to sell it on eBay again
