Since I got my iPad 3 on launch day I've been charging it every 3 to 4 days under moderate use. At first I thought the long recharge times would be a problem but leaving overnight to charge is the best. I do it when I get between 20 and 30 percent.

OK I tested my new ipad as well.

After 2 complete discharge/recharges - using a sun dial, as time capture device. I playing HALO 4 for 6 hours then COD 12 for 8 hours.
I managed 44.784539999999999999 hours, (including stand by). total battery life.:(

Yea, this one is going back!!

I don't know who to believe. There appears to be a consensus from anecdotal evidence that the iPad has good battery life, but you guys don't have the facts like Drenline.

Is Apple paying you guys?

I don't think I've ever had more than about 5 hours use from it, with web browsing and email only, wifi model. The full brightness is not that bright so I find it needs to be on 80% or so.

Heavy users get 6-7 hours max, lets face it. Only time that users will get over 9 hours is a good chunk of that is based off standby time. Just stating facts.

I check this a few times per week; and get between 8.5 and 9.5 hours watching a downloaded movie with brightness set to 85%.

If I merely surf the web/read emails, I get some 12 hours or so.

I have noticed that some apps will burn battery life even if you don't actively use them. The biggest offender is Skype. It tends to shutdown and restart in the background frequently (you'll hear the Skype sound when this happens.)

I haven't measured scientifically per se, but I have not had any issues getting through a full day of work with any of the iPads I've had (1, 2, now new). That said, I've never had to really push 3G access to the limit as I'm usually within spitting distance of wifi access, so I can't really speak to whether or not I could get through an entire day on 3G. Probably not.
