I started to read all these posts but then I got bored.

Chase bank has a minimum $100 balance requirement to not get charged a fee. I have banked with them for the past five years and haven't had any issues whatsoever.
 
Wamu, erm - I mean Chase, has this. Not sure what the minimum required balance is though.

No Chase location within 50 miles of me.

Wells Fargo requires a $1,500 minimum balance.

The bank that I found which has the least is CapitalOne with $300.
 
Federal law states that you need to be at least 21 years-old to apply for a credit card. Unless you have a parent or legal guardian co-sign for you.

Now if you're talking about opening a checking/savings account and getting a debit card, that's another story.

18 is the earliest you can apply for a credit card without a co-signer. I got approved for two before I turned 19. That was right before the beginning of 2011.

You should try Bank of America. No minimum balance for eBanking.

You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for credit in the US. However, you must have a co-signer and/or proof of adequate income. To independently get a credit card you must be 21.
