I read that Chuck was going off the air. :(
I love that show.

Brothers and Sisters is a good one to watch.
House

I don't watch tv all that much. Usually I watch movies more than shows.

Southland --just started not too long ago. It seems like a great show to watch.

I want to get Tudors on DVD I keep hearing that that is a great show.

Chuck was renewed for 18 episodes. NBC is going to air a lot of shows as half the length of normal seasons now because of the Jay Leno thing.

What's House all about?

House is a medical drama that centers around rare and highly unusual infections and medical stuff... the show also works in (increasingly in recent years) the goings-on (sexually over-toned) of the characters. The first couple/few seasons, more disease-centric, was the best.

What an amazing series. I've seen it 3 times through already, and I could watch it again and again. Amazing cast, amazing story.

Anyone who has any interest in WWII or enjoys war movies should check this out.

I always end up watching Saving Private Ryan when ever I go through this series. I've seen it through three or four times, as well.

Definitely get Tudors. If you like movies/shows about political intrigue and power then this is a must. If you have not seen Rome watch that as well. However, if you have seen and enjoyed Rome you will like the Tudors.

I can't believe I didn't mention that show. That's the best comedy/drama series on TV. Ari Gold (played by Jeremy Piven) is by far the best character on the show.
Ari is definitely the funniest, just because he is such a weasle. Though I also enjoy how Turtle is the fall guy of the show and things never work out right for him.

Edit: Though many here would disagree. I think Star Trek: Enterprise was also quite a good series. Though it did get bogged down for one of it's seasons. It is the only Star Trek series with a fairly continuous story line. Which is probably the chief reason for it's failure. What is funny though is that when it went under it was still one of the UPN's most popular shows and had more episodes and seasons than the original Star Trek.

+1 for The Big Bang Theory.

Unfortunately the second series has just ended (along with LOST :( ), but if you can get hold of the DVDs it's definitely a great watch. Not much of a running story-line though.... it's a bit like friends, relationships are consistent. but the main theme of the episode changes per-episode.

Another show you may be interested in is The OC. If you like OTH, you will love The OC. It has a lot of the same great drama, beautiful characters, and funny quips that you would expect from a show like this. There are 4 seasons, but only the first 3 have the full cast.

Definitely! That was one of the few actually decent "teenage dramas" other than Gossip Girl (which Lee has already mentioned) that I watch/ed. I haven't seen One Tree Hill, but I'm sure if you like that, then The OC and Gossip Girl won't disappoint.

Also, someone else mentioned Entourage too....I started watching the first season last year and couldn't stop. My favorite show ever! Plus Vincent Chase is HOTT, haha.

O, and I almost forgot to add The Wire. I've only seen the first season so far, but it was very engaging and just an overall great show.

Big Bang Theory is a lot of fun (the one on the train the other week here in the UK was particluarly funny). Sharply written and loads of geeky jokes.
Battlestar Galactica (new version) was absolutely awesome.
Damages - very good engrossing storyline played out over a short season
One Tree Hill - one of my all-time favourites, the fast-forward storytelling device was used well on this show
House
LOST
Gossip Girl
Heroes
Rescue Me
Bones
Chuck
24

For ongoing plot stuff,

Good:
Dexter
Breaking Bad
Californication
Weeds

Better:
Oz
Six Feet Under
Entourage
Arrested Development
Curb your Enthusiasm

Best:
The Wire

Any of Armando Ianucci's work.
He did In the Loop - and ther's 2 great TV series that were done prior to it. Catching up on Brass Eye etc would be worth it - old, but still relevant today.

I'm gonna cast a vote for The Riches and Prison Break (season 1). Also, I've heard good things about Burn Notice, but I haven't seen it myself. It's probably next on my list.

Haha! Hey now, I know a lot of straight guys who watch that show. It's funny as hell. :)

I saw one of the season openers when they had it free on iTunes. da's it. Too callow and heartless for my taste., no offense. :)
