So my usage for my new ipad mini 6 has changed I need to make a lot of short videos maybe 5-10 minutes. the best way for this to work would be two or three small usb-c drives I can swap in and out of the mini. So does anyone have an ipad mini 6 and is using small size thumbnail with 64 gb or 128 gb capacity. i would love a few to pick from.

This is a really nice one that has both USB-C and A that I got for my iPad Air 4

i got the 128gb and the 256gb thanks 🙏

As a little side story; SanDisk is one of my favourite companies (Part of WD) when it comes to solid state media.
I've had several of their SSDs and they always strike a good balance between performance, longevity and cost IMO. Furthermore, their support is excellent. Even after I was out of warranty they replaced my SSD for free with a brand new one when it failed (one out of many that work flawlessly)

Just as an additional thought: consider an SSD like Samsungs T5, T7 or SanDisk Portable SSD. Copying is way faster than with the USB sticks.

Is that true? Is the USB-C port speed on the Mini 6 greater than the speed of USB sticks? If so, then using an SSD would indeed result in faster speeds, but if not, then it will simply result in greater expense and greater bulk... unless of course the OP can use it on multiple devices.

A.) transfer speeds via USB-C on any iPad with it are lower then technical theoretical specs.
B.) Transfer speed is impacted by what you are copying - e.g. many small files vs. a single large one.
C.) It’s purely anectdotical, but connecting a T7 (or even a T5) and copying files is simply faster compared to any stick with USB-C connector I have. Might be because I use this or this dual USB-A/C one (or similar).
D.) For reliable copying data FROM the iPad TO a directly connected external storage I recommend getting FileBrowser Go or Professional. There are several threads here related to problems with file operations when using Apple’s Files under iPadOS 13&14, they all seem to disappear with FileBrowser. Things seem to be better under 15, but apparently there are still problems.
E.) somewhat related to D.): if you use the USB-C storage device only between iPad and Macs it is recommended to use APFS as file system on it.
