You could watch paint dry or collect dust bunnies! :p

How about taking up a martial art of some kind? I spent 11 years doing just that and I really enjoyed it. Bonus being how fit you are for it. :)

I got hooked on woodworking. It's spendy to get in on, but most tools will last a lifetime and there's nothing better than furniture YOU made being used by people -- yourself included.

If you like teh vechiclez you could buy a project car and work on it!

It's what i want to spend one future summer doing.....once i get my license :p

Second that suggestion. I started out carving. Then went up to a lathe. Now I turn pens, bottle stoppers,my own fishing lures, jewelery boxes etc..Very rewarding hobby. I'd also suggest some type of physical activity/sport. Whether it's biking, running, weightlifting, martial arts etc..
Whatever you decide to take up,I would suggest a healthy balance between online and offline time..

Third! I turn pens as well and have more projects lined up then I have time to work on.

Or if I might suggest inverted, suborbital, rocket-powered, anti-gravity bungee jumping...
Very obscure Muppets reference...

Sports. Something recreational, outside possibly, athletic. Work out, get in shape, or get in better shape. Join a league. Play hoops, or hockey if you can. Run. Preferably a team sport even if it is just pick up games.

Golf or guitar.

Golf courses have junior rates that are really cheap, I used to pay $5 a couple years ago and you could get a decent set of used clubs to start with for $300-$500. Plus it takes a lot of time and you'll want to practice and get better because you will suck terrible in the beginning (and its fun when you get good to beat all of the adults who think they're really good).

Start model railroading! Its a great pasttime, your grandkids will love it and so will your children! I personally do S Gauge, but Lionel usually is more common in O Gauge. HO is great for smaller areas. There are lots of places you can buy stuff and it can be as realistic as you want, and prices are pretty good.

Its a timeless hobby.

Wonderful way to help your community.

Why not get into a sport?
Great way to keep the body in shape and have fun!

Learn to fly! :)
A wonderful pursuit. It's expensive, but worth it.

Astronomy, of course!
Great idea. Stars be cool! :D

a good pair of nunchaku are the best toy I've found - start with a soft pair though :D
Terrible concept IMHO.

If you want to learn the nunchaku, go learn a Martial Art that incorporates the weapons that you are interested in learning.

The WWDB! :)

I used to participate in this hobby when I was young and single. Now we have a dearth of dust bunnies.

Nice list. As you say, find something to enjoy.

Cool. Especially if you have space at home where you can do it.

start learning how to play an instrument. Music will save your soul one day. :)
No matter what age, this is always a good one.

R/C Cars/planes etc. I freaking love em. Kind of expensive but man it is fun.
Fun hobby. I enjoy RC helicopters. Fun way to relax and have fun.

Start model railroading!
Always a winner.

There have been so many wonderful suggestions.

To the OP, try a variety. See what you like, then pursue it.

I run immigrants across the boarder using a motorcycle with a side-car. It can be pretty stressful at times with the high-speed chases and all the bullet wounds, but it passes the time. The side car is for easy release for those super sticky situations when its every man for himself.

Take up running.

Get yourself an iPod nano and the Nike + iPod Sport Kit.

You can track your progress, collect and analyze stats, and get healthy at the same time.

I second this one. Running by yourself is a great time to thing about things and clear your mind. To have more fun, get a group of friends into running and run together.
