I've never found that to be the case. Within warranty, I've taken phones to Verizon carrier stores and had them swapped out (been a while since I've done that). I've called Verizon to report an issue, and they've sent me a phone overnight and then I sent mine back. With Asurion, I've gotten a new phone the next day.

You don't hear people getting so heated about why a Toyota is better than a Honda, or why an LG dishwasher is better than Whirlpool. Who cares lol. You enjoy your phone, what more do you need to prove?
Why would anybody argue over a Honda or a Toyota? Or your dishwasher comparison? These comparisons make zero sense. In case you're unaware, it is quite common in an office or IT position where people debate android vs iPhones. I constantly get made fun of by my android friends for having an iPhone.

I hear this all the time around the office: What urges people to buy iphones over android phones?

I've owned every single iphone since the original and my arguments never seem to shut these people up. They don't understand "its the overall package" , "it just works", "reliable", etc.

I ask the android people the same thing, why do they go android and the most common response I get is "Apple is evil".

Thoughts?

People think that Android is more flexible and Apple is a walled garden. While that may be the case, the control Apple exerts has more positives than negatives. You'll always hear people brag about "endlessly customizing" their Android phone, but that's not really the case anymore. Nowadays you hear about people buying Android phones and being bogged down by carrier bloatware and stagnant product updates. The primary benefit to an iPhone from an Android users perspective is that you get updates straight from the manufacturer and there's zero carrier bloatware, you can also get a fully unlocked world phone. Even with the latest Galaxy S6 or Note 5 (which I have while waiting for my new toy :) there's so much bloatware that people are having a difficult time with performance and battery life (per XDA forums). Now with Samsung going to a sealed battery and no sd card, there's even fewer benefits to Android like there once was.

Or you could go with this...

Holding the iPhone 6s in my hand, though, it was utterly clear that Apple had done a tremendous amount of work on the software side to take advantage of the hardware it had built. This is the stuff that separates Apple from its competition, and I can’t think of a more impressive example than 3D Touch.

Every time I intended to use 3D Touch to “push” an icon on the iPhone home screen, the feature activated and a contextual menu popped into view, accompanied by a tiny vibration to indicate that I had succeeded with my gesture. The extension of that gesture–sliding my finger or thumb down to the right menu item and then letting go–felt natural after a single try.

When I used the iPhone without attempting to enable 3D Touch, it didn’t enable. When I tried, it worked...

I've switched to Android a few times to get better screens and resolutions. I recently had a Nexus 6 which was great but I am now moving back to the 6S Plus. Android has come a long way and is pretty good. I just like the integration with all my other Apple products and the updates that come so quickly.

Every now and then another techie friend or office co-worker will ask me about this.

I go with the boring: "I like OS X and the phone integrates well with that" line.

Interestingly, most of the people (just IME) that laud the ability to customize things in Android do absolutely nothing at all custom with their phone... other than try out new keyboards for a few min.
