I just tend to agree with them in a slightly sarcastic way, and it really used to piss some people off.

They've mostly ended up buying them now though. Of the people bringing laptops into school in my yeargroup, there are more Macs around than PCs.

99% of the time I walk away, but if the person keeps badgering me about it:

"*sigh* Yeah, HFS+, lack of seriousness in terms of security, QA iss-- wait... I didn't realize you were a necrophiliac? *inquisitive look*"

-MAC Stands for Bad ass

No it doesn't. It stands for Media Access Control. Which is amusing in its own right because there is certainly some irony there.

A few days ago at work, I had a co-worker giving a demo on his brand spankin' new VAIO laptop of how to install and set up a wireless lab monitoring system that we just started selling. He got to the program's setup window and the screen went black, wouldn't recover, holding power didn't even turn the thing off, had to pull the battery and do a hard reset. Restarted, got back to where he was, BSOD, reboot, BSOD again. So I grab my Macbook, boot into XP, plug in the USB cable of the receiver, pop in the install disc, and have it running in minutes so he can continue his demo for everyone.

Just another example that showing how Macs are PCs too and can run windows when they need to goes a long way.

When someone bashes my Mac, I usually reply with "I'm sorry you have a defective computer." or soemthing to that extent, in a sympathetic tone.

Do not really pay any attention to them. You are going to get drawn into a heavy debate.

Now there are some things that quite frankly Mac suck for. The big one is going to be in the desktop department. I personally will never buy a Mac desktop because I am not going to pay $2000 plus cost to upgrade it to what I need just so I have upgradablilty when I can do the same for $1000-1500 on PC (and that includes all the upgrades). I am not willing to pay that much for crap in the mac pros I do not need (namely the extra processing power). I like many others hate the iMacs and down because they are so very limited what the end user can upgrade and I go beyond that in my PC tower. (I think 3.5 years ago when I built it I paid 1500 for it and for me to get a mac to meet my needs it was something like 2500+ and most of that was paying for a lot of extra stuff I did not need but would of had to pay for just ability meet all my needs)

As for Apple laptops I think they are great and I love mine. I think they are very competitive and they meet requirements I want out of them for a price I am willing to pay.

XD I love the jokes.

I do have a problem witht he iLife comeback...

Saying that mac is easy to use...

I tried that and th eiLife one, and they said "Mac treats you either like a 90 year old grandpa, or a retard with a helmet."

They are my friends, but fierce windows fanboys.

okay..... how about MS making winblows and office?
have you EVER used entourage as opposed to outlook?

okay, outlook is dece since there's not really an alternative, but entouage looks like it's messed up, paste eating, pot smoking brother... and acts like it.

sorry to offend all you reefers out there ;)

Usually when someone heckles my Mac (either the one in my office or while I'm out and about using my MacBook Pro) all I have to do is launch Parallels Desktop, and as the familiar Windows logo appears in a box, I reply "you were saying?"

Shuts them up every time. :)
