That's super great. I didn't know about that. I'm so sick of being so locked into Apple. I'm missing a lot of great stuff that others have years later. When I was Android I used to laugh at Apple heads. I guess I should just laugh at myself now.
You used to laugh at people that use other products than you?

So you keep your phone screen on to not miss notifications, but then you complain they don't come on your watch because you are constantly looking at your phone for the notifications?

Not sure the issue, keep screen on when using phone, get all notifications. Turn screen off when not using the phone, get all notifications on your watch.

Your iPhone, iPad, Mac are, for lack of a better word, a parent. Your AW is a child, to your iPhone (which it is paired). Notifications will NOT extend to your AW if you are using your iPhone. Even the AW3 (which is somewhat a standalone device) still requires the iPhone to be powered on and connected to the network to get all your notifications on your AW when away.

LCD's DO have a life span - will you ever reach it? Probably not. LCD also do not have burn-in, but can suffer from image persistence. Just look at those LCD TVs in the Airport that run CNN - ALL THE TIME - they look terrible!

Like others have said I would consider getting a S8/Note 8/V30 - they all have AOD. They will be much more efficient than keeping your iPhone screen on 24/7.

As someone who is currently using an S8 until 11/3, the one thing I will miss the most, by far and bar none, is the Always On Display. I can know at a glance at all times what time it is and what notifications have come in without having to constantly press the home button to wake the screen or poke around the watch to check for notifications. I hope Apple steals this feature soon now that they will have an OLED screen on the X.

That’s funny, ‘cuz that’s exactly what I use the watch for. And if there’s a red dot on the display, I know that I can give it just one single swipe to see what it’s about.

You really need to wean yourself off of the phone.

It's not that I don't understand how to do it, it's that I first have to bring the watch up to wake it up, then see if there's a dot, then if there is, I need to swipe down from the top to try and see what exactly the notification is. Way quicker to tap the home button on the phone.

Whew that is a lot of work, I bet lifting your arm up to see your watch wears you out and then you have to tap the screen too! Man I don't know how you do it. The watch is right there on your arm, your phone could be anywhere. Geez some people just have to complain about something! Repeat after me....This is NOT a problem!

Condescending sarcasm really adds a lot to any conversation.

This whole thread just doesnt make sense... why would anyone want a text message notification to go off on their phone and ALSO the watch? I just feel like it'd be annoying and kill the point of having a watch? Mod needs to really remove this whole thread from existence:eek:

I already get annoyed about duplicate notifications on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Not sure why anyone would want to have so many notifications. If you're wearing the watch you'll get your notifications. I don't understand either.

Because Apple refuses to add a stupid notification LED and I prefer not to have audio notifications because they are annoying to myself and others and because I don't want a phone stuck against my body all the time and because I prefer to keep the phone fully charged and because I don't feel like touching the phone constantly to see if I have any notifications.

Because Apple won't add that 1970s technology that was on TAPE answering machines and almost all cell phones starting in the 1980s called the notification LED.

This just hurt to read...

While it's a good suggestion, unfortunately the way this works on iOS is that the camera flash will go off twice only when an alert comes in, then nothing. On Android phones such as the S8, the notification LED will blink continuously (you can even assign different apps their own color) to let you know there are notifications waiting.

I don’t think there is anything anyone here can do for you. You refuse to turn on the sound, refuse any haptic feedbacks, refuse to touch it, so you leave your phone on and keep staring at it while waiting for a notification? Then complain there is no flashing LED? Ok so your gripe is no LED notification. Got it....
