I need to do a paper on somebody...

I actually I had a great idea, what about Michael Jackson? It seems like a controversial idea, but seems like it could be great.

I need a thesis and opinion on something, and I was thinking of something about his troubled life and how money doesn't exactly equal happiness, but it needs to be more narrowed down, any ideas?

Money versus happiness? Consider Howard Hughes. Actually had a number of things in common with MJ, and you have more to work with than music and pop culture.
 
It really would help us if you gave us a few more details: What class is this for--8th grade history, college senior philosophy ... ?

Is the ONLY requirement for the paper that you develop a point of view? :confused:
 
Gavrillo Princip. Not just what he did, but how he got there and the political flavors of the time. It has always fascinated how the actions of one man could ignite a conflagration that consumed hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions.

First you get dozens of great ideas, and then you pick MJ.... sheesh....
Now you're asking us to write the paper for you? I don't think so.... :p

That's an interesting idea but because there are such varying opinions about him there's a chance you could piss off your teacher and (unfair or not) receive a lesser grade based on emotional response. There are a lot of people who completely believe he was a pedophile and reject any other evidence to the contrary. I would think most high school (?) teachers are more fair than that but I think there's a chance for it to go wrong. I also bet you're not the only one who thought of him. It may not be a unique choice. Just some things to think about.
