....What exactly are you talking about $299 ? Have you had this done before?

I have had several advanced replacements from apple over the years including one for the iPhone 5 and they have all worked this way.
Sorry just a typo, I was typing the correct fee of $29 and added an extra 9. :eek: Yes, I have used Advanced replacements on my iPad and on an iPhone 4S. The iPad did not have Applecare but they waived the $29 fee since it was a backlight failure within 30 days of purchase. The iPhone 4S had AppleCare+ so there was no question, the fee was waived due to the AppleCare+ coverage.
