Never used it on my iPad 2 and doubt I will on the 3 either. I'd cover up the opening for it if I could do so permanently as it prevents me from taking my iPad into the gym, some customer locations (high security areas), etc.

the rear camera is a waste.

should be flipping it around and allowing us to use that 5mp camera up front for skype, facetime, etc.

I agree that it would be nice to have a front HD camera, but the back camera certainly is not a waste. I of course had my new iPad in my hands all weekend, and my younger son was doing something really cute. Didn't have my iPhone close by, so I used the iPad to grab a video. It looks amazing, even though it was shot in low light.

Use it all the time now. Where I use to put down my iPad to grab my iPhone to take a picture of a customers toolbox or shop Equiptment. I now use the iPad. I already have it out and getting to the camera is very quick via multitasking. I also use it to scan all my packing slips and any documents.

For business it's a huge help. Personal, well, I can see how it wouldn't be used as much as a iPhone.

I know my reason is fairly specific, but I use it when I visit job sites (I'm a lighting design engineer).

I take pictures and footage of the spaces we've designed and it's pretty convenient, because I also use my iPad to transport PDF's and drawings.

Shot this in a darkened room, subject was illuminated by a floor lamp. I then did a quick job in the new iPhoto app, seeing how that works, too. I think I just corrected the exposure a bit (auto enhancement) and then cropped.
