Ugh. Not a word about their computers. 100% dedicated to their consoles.

Would have been really nice to at least hear about the next version of OS X.

I seriously need the Mac Pro to update NOW. Or at least this week.

My current computer is dying and acting incredibly stupid, and I need a new computer that can handle the newer Adobe Creative Suite in order to update many of my files that need updating.

I'm not willing to risk buying one today, when an update is so imminent - JUST GET HERE ALREADY!

Same boat - loyal Apple customer - studio G5's being made obsolete next week. Nothing to replace them with but technology that is over a year old, no idea if kit purchased now will be out of date in a week , a month or last another six months!. Kit should last 5 years - certainly don't want 1/5 of that built into a current purchase.

Thanks a bunch Apple!

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I think we all knew that Apple were not going to release the Mac Pro today, and secretly some of us knew that they wouldn't announce it either.

We are the fools, and we are the ones who need to change our thinking...
Apple have become successful and made billions of dollars by selling all things "i" and if it works for them why change it? The ratio of iphone/ipad/ipod consumers to that of Mac Pro is so wide that only an idiot of a business man would think about the latter first.

No more waiting or holding our breath. Get on with working out an alternate solution or buy the current spec and get totally shafted with no lubrication because of the price. Like I said in a previous post, Steve Jobs might be getting a pat on the back from all the average Joe's who are buying the "i" products, but the average professional that have been waiting on an update to their "High End" Mac Pro for a year thinks that Steve is a big outright ********.

Sorry Steve, it's the itruth.

Not quite as old as that, but it is time to update my current system to something new.

Yeah, they have time to talk about Farmville, but not time to talk about professional Mac hardware. Is this what Apple is about now? Guess the writing is on the wall.....

I agree the Farmville thing is lame. But the main keynote at WWDC is becoming less and less for developers now that Apple no longer goes to MacWorld. It's now clearly directed at the public.

WWDC goes through the 11th. One would have to think that there's room for Mac hardware announcements still to come.

I suppose I'll have to bite the bullet, and price out a PC, the OS won't be as nice, and I'll be plagued with virus, but heck, at least I'll have better hardware for the same price I would have paid Apple.

A silent update tomorrow is the best bet. If we don't see anything by tomorrow afternoon, then it's back to the guessing. Then we might see an updated Mac Pro anywhere between "next Tuesday" and never.

We need a whistleblower from inside Apple. Someone´s gotta spill the beans of their plans... I mean what the hell are they doing?

Well, I suppose I should start looking for guides to build a good hackintosh then. It's apparently the only way we can get a nice OS X machine that is not unbelievably overpriced.

Yeah, Ive got a 4.5 year old Vaio laptop, which I love don't get me wrong, but it's basically on life-support now. It has 2gb ram, and it's been giving me hassles just working in InDesign CS3. I'm ready to switch over to Mac ASAP, but I'm not going to pay the same price that I would have paid 1.5 years ago for the same technology.

It's how I make my living, and I also need a better computer for HD video production!

Here's praying on Tuesday

The thing most people don't think about when they get irked and say they're going to build a Hackintosh is that (most of the time) you're limited to the drivers released by Apple...

I've been stalking the i7 27in imac but couldn't rationalize spending the money without getting esata or a recent/non-mobile graphics card. The MacPro was my other option but frankly the price/value is a joke...

So, I got tired of waiting for something to change and started my rig a few weeks ago. I've got the machine together and ready to go, except for the graphics card. I am crossing my fingers that Apple will release a BTO option for the MacPro or iMac that includes either the Nvidia 470 Fermi or the ATI 5870. You know when that happens Hackintosh drivers won't be far behind. Ohh and USB 3.0 support would be great. Here's to dreaming, right...

I've been a die hard Apple user since the late 80's. I hope that when this ifad cools off that Apple won't have forgotten about or totally lost their Pro and Prosumor base of users.

Before i get flamed for not buying Apple I should say that I'm writing this on my MBP 15in Uni and followed the Keynote on my MacBook Air this morning.

Just my 2 cents.

Did you really need to create a thread for this? There are other discussion already. ;)

If you don't like it, don't get here; at this point, we REALLY need to express our frustration for the lack of updates on the MP lineup... i've been expecting this for months, even sold my 8-core Mac Pro and have the cash literally at hand, ready to buy the new one the minute they become available.

So if you don't relate, i'm sure there's plenty of iPhone 4 related threads awaiting for your opinion.

Who needs a MacPro when you have an iPhone with Farmville?

I couldn't help but roll my eyes when Steve started talking about Farmville... I haven't been an Apple shareholder for a while but if I were I'd be contently discontent. I'm glad Apple is addressing the needs/wants/desires of the masses as it helps the Apple ecosystem. But really, 5 min during the keynote for Farmville...

Deny it all you like, any mention is invocation of Godwin's Law

The law says that there will be a comparison to him, not just any mention.

Those videos in YouTube are funny. But I think they get taken down quickly because the producers of that movie are no longer amused.

I too think there should be a no Mac Pro at WWDC video.

I guess they lost their sense of humor. :D

It's only Monday we still have tomorrow, such a let down today.

Sorry to say it, but i feel your setting yourself up for a letdown tomorrow aswell.

Jobs can stand on the podium aslong as he'd like to talk about farmville, avatar the game, and ibooks (ye books on 3,5inch display, i mean come an).

Its just goes to show you. I mean, Jobs mentioned the development time on the iphone. It was long.

I think back on the latest updates on the mac line. imac's had so many problems, yellow tint, crack, crackling noises whatever. the list goes on.

now the macbook pro did get quite warm (100 degrees celsius to be precise)

I just feel if Apple did the same kind of work with the macs they would be alot better. For me its just feels like something they pull together in the last second.
