Because I'll be going with a hot girl who wanted to go with me. I'll mention for him not to open the box. All the activation stuff can be done at home by yourself.

I'm reminded of a quote from The Rock:

"Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and **** the prom queen."

If you had any chance with this "Hot girl" at all, you wouldn't be on the computer at 3:00 am, you'd be in bed with her...

I reserved my phone because UPS, FedEx, and all those companies come around my neighborhood later in the day. I plan on having them "set up" my phone in the Apple Store because if yesterday brought down servers, I can't imagine what's going to happen when everyone is upgrading that day.

If iTunes goes down at your home you will experience the same problem @ the Apple store with a much longer wait. I remember that happened with the 3G launch and I ended up having to activate my phone at home once everything came back up.

Classic referring to an unfamiliar individual as "kid" in an attempt to sound condescending.

Because swearing is limited to twelve year olds, right? How do you know this? Converse with a lot of 12 year olds? Calling it "just a phone" automatically rescinds any credibility you thought you had on the subject. It's more of a mobile handheld computer with an iOS that also happens to be able to make calls.

CJayC posts never fail to entertain. He must live in a flame suit or something.

Are you serious? They want to open people's phones? That's ****ing disgusting. I don't want loser genius workers who can't afford iPhone to show me how cool they are by touching my iPhone.

I really hope that's sarcasm ... Apple Store staff are either given a generous staff discount or given the latest Apple tech to use at home and in work so they're clued up on the products.

When's the last time you seen anyone in the Apple Store not having their own iPhone on them?

When I was in the Glasgow store buying my 3G last year, one of the staff members told me that they have their own personal iPhone's provided by the company.

So they don't need to be able to "afford them" ... it's a perk of their job.

So to them, you're the "loser" paying for one and they're the "winners" getting one for nothing.

Amazing what a different perspective brings to any given situation eh?

Did you count the mouse clicks during the order process? Also don't forget to print and frame those screenshots to hang them on the wall.

Sounds like too much work in the middle of the night.

I walked into the ATT store around noon, had a friendly sales person enter the order and walked out 10 minutes later. Done.

No middle of the night logins or fighting server problems all day.

^ This, frankly, the way some of you behave as if the iPhone is the life for you, and this ritualistic drooling while giving a company your money... it's a great piece of electronics but come on....it can't be the most important thing in your life.

But who gives a ****! CJayC programmed a macro refresh and he is coming in with a hot girl!

Look at this cool guy. If I don't want my phone to be touched then it's my ****ing right.

And being able to afford the iPhone doesn't make you a winner.

I'll say. You're a prime example. Why are there so many cool guys trolling MR today?

I see no problem with this. Besides hes right. The so callede "genius" are not always smart. My key poped off. All I want is my key to be fixed, not for you to go through my machine or do something and charge me double for it.

Um...........Who cares about pictures of your computer screen, let's see pictures of the "Hot Chick"!!

Ok guys I got the same confirmation message, but I still havnt got the confirmation email, and I pre ordered at 12 am yesterday, what do I do now? is my iPhone pre orderd? do I wait longer for the email?

You don't know what a troll is. Here's what one is, since you haven't read the forum rules:

4."Trolling". Do not post in order to anger other members or intentionally cause negative reactions. For a given post, this can be a subjective call, but a pattern of such posting or an especially egregious case will get you banned. Basically, don't try to pick fights. Knowingly posting false information is also prohibited.

So, what was the intent of your OP, hmmm?

BTW, how long did you intend to run your little macro? It's stuff like that that made it hard for others to order. I'm not saying you caused a problem, since you got it ordered fairly quickly, but had you not, I wonder what you would've done.

You've been on the forums for two weeks. You probably won't be here in two more. But if you plan on staying, try to be more civil. This isn't your little playground to practice being tough, since you can't in real life. You're behind a computer screen, so your reactions are meaningless. As far as some of the responders to you go, if you don't like their posts, report them. You should certainly be able to ignore them, since after all it's just someone typing crap. Anyway, read the forum rules. It'll help you in the long run.

For the Social Security...
do i need to show it to them?
or do i just need to tell them the last 4 digits? (just like when i need to pre-order?)

cause i don't feel safe bringing it... :/
