There's a new generation at Apple now. I wish Steve was giving the presentation, but I'm also anxious to see how Tim and the rest of the executive team do without Steve.

As he once said...
Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.

well, with Steve keynotes were a celebration of new products. Now it's just an introduction of a new product.

But I'm not gonna lose sleep over it either....

Whether we really knew steve or not. Apple fan or Microsoft fan. I'm sure we can all agree that without steve the keynotes will not be the same. And as march 7th approach the feeling that something is missing will grow ever more.

I guess as Tim Cook is now the most wealthy and influential gay man on the planet, he should embrace his inner actress and give future keynotes his own special touch...lol ....why not? He seems a bit shy/reserved, which is understandable considering the shoes he has filled, hope he gets over this soon...

(I do understand why the OP might be missing Steve, he was the face of the company for so long and had a certain way about him that made anything he had to say interesting).

You think you miss him. You know him because he led a company of which you bought some products.

His family and friends are the ones who really miss him.

I wonder if Tim Cook will use the old "One more thing..." line.

Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Jim Henson... all people who impacted my life with their product but not people who affect me on a personal level. So yes, I respect their legacy but no, I don't miss them because I didn't know them.

Im a consumer and I care about Apple because of the products more than the people. I guess I'm selfish that way.

I like when Tim Cook said, "It's a great time to be here at Apple."

He's also pretty humorous.

I only own 7 Apple products at the moment. I do miss Steve. But he lives on in his products. :)

Well Tim Cook has been in Apple since the 90's and he deserves a LOT of credit for bringing Apple to where they are. Steve also laid out a 5yr plan for all Apple products so his influence will still be there.

A part of me does worry about how long Apple will remain Apple without him but Tim seems like the next best thing.

On the positive side Steve's decisions pssed off a lot of customers so if we'll now see a more open and accommodating Apple then that's surely a good thing.

That's life for you, people come and people go. Just need to deal with it the best you can but obviously it's hard when some close goes away, for example I still miss my grandfather who passed away 10 years ago because he was very close to me.

I never knew Steve at all so can't say it has impacted my life in any way. Only thing is it may make keynotes a bit less entertaining

Is this really the place to correct perceived mistakes in the stated feelings of fellow posters?

I think not.

I don't miss him personally, but I miss him being CEO at Apple and his keynotes.

No one will ever be able to do a keynote like Steve. That's probably what I'll miss most with the iPad 3 introduction - his stage presence.

I miss his keynotes and him as the face of Apple.

I'm not seeing any drama. Having feelings are just part of what makes us human and seperates us from the animal kingdom. I'm sure his family and friends will feel the loss for sometime to come. We should all respect each others feelings.

Not to drag this thread into PRSI but emotions have been observed in both primates and elephants, particularly grief over a dead family member.

I miss his showmanship but I am grateful that I was around to see the days he did the announcements. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
